Name one time in all the crashes we ever had, where that happened. name one.
What about all the time that servers come up faster than the scheduled one hour? Do you object to paying more for that amount of game time? It's only a few hours of downtime, it's not that big a deal.

People in QQ, listen to my words.
Breath deeply.
Look within yourself. Look at the QQ. Feel it throbing within your heart. Look past the QQ. Look for the meaning of it. Understand your QQ.
Now wake up and do something constructive.

This intrepid reporter has found his way to the secret CCP database storage facility in Iceland, following the terse announcement of Eve's kidnapping. What he found is utter pandemonium. According to sources that wish to remain nameless a person by the name of Tuxford escaped the dungeon, (codenamed: the mail room)where he was sentenced to following his sad misfortunate RGE lapse last year. He was aided by this by a renegade faction of the Iceland-is-cold-get-me-out-of here Hamster brigade, also known as "EEK". It remains unclear how the Hamsters were able to gain access to Tuxford who had been kept in solitary confinement most of the time. It has been suggested they made contact after successfully detonating a vulcano and using its ash cloud as cover. Here is what we do know: Sections of the Hamster brigade, along with aforementioned Tuxford remain barricaded in the data base center. Their demands have not been made public. Maniacal laughter is reported to be heard from behind the shuttered doors, followed by cascading fail messages. A special squad of Dev's has been on standby to assist in the apprehention of the culprits when the database doors are finally breached. Current time estimates to that event have proven unreliable and have been pushed back several times. Fans of Eve are staying glued to the forums for further updates.

heh heh - it just so happens that it's my Eve-time right now ... my wife is off for gymnastics (!), my kids are out of the house and all my drinking buddies are in jail. I don't think a fanboy/girl like you will understand

Have you ever troubleshot a technical problem? No, don't answer that, obviously you have not.
The first thing that happens is you get notification of a problem. In CCP's case many tears flowing their way. So, you say, "Give me just a few minutes to look into it. ETA 15 - 20 minutes". 45 minutes later you realize the problem is more serious but you still don't know for sure so you notify your client. "Best guess is a couple of hours." because that's generally how long it may take for typically moderate issues. So you go about you're merry way troubleshooting the issue one problem leading to the other but at this point you have a better idea of what you're dealing with. An hour and a half passes and you realize, "Hey, this is more serious that it looked, notify the customer.", "Mr. Customer, it's going to be a couple of more hours, we think we are on to something but it looks like we'll need at least a couple of more hours." and so on and so forth until the problem is solved. Until CCP has a real handle on the issue the only time they can say for certain that it's going to take to fix it is 5 minutes to forever. So better to tell the client "a couple of more hours" every couple of hours. Unfortunately, the only time anyone has a real handle on none-routine technical problems is typically when they have them fixed. So, it'll be fixed when it's fixed and you'll be able to play your precious game.
Troubleshooting is not a point a to point b process. You can't see that there is a problem and then determine which and how many steps you'll need to fix it.

Since I only play a few hours each day, I am not playing 23/7. But I paid for 1 month at a time. That means I should have, to do an average, 30 days x 23 hours = 690 hours of playtime. Since I only play a few hours each day, again to do an average, 3 hours each day, that means I have 690 paid for hours / 3 = 230 days before I should need to pay my next monthly fee.
What do you mean that's not how it works?

Just, stfu, ok?! They're working on it. Y'all act like you're some very important business people losing millions of real-life money per minute you can't play! Well, newsflash, you're just a dude with a hard-on for space games, and you need to wait a bit, is all. Get a grip!
just to correct you there is no one losing millions of RL money we still get charged no matter what so there... da da da whoop
it's the end of the world as we know it ahhhhhhhhh
oh the last bit is prob correct :)
Well some of us are paying for eve with isk, considering that some players are young or they don't have work because there just simply isnt work in some areas we cant exactly afford to pay for eve with actual money. like myself for instance. i need to play eve and make isk to be able to pay for the game so it isnt exaclt fair on everyone.

heh. im not disagreeing with you. I actually think CCP dont do that bad. The only criticism I have with them is their tendenancy to say, hour til fixed...... hour gone, ok another hour...... hour gone, maybe two hours. I rather they just say, watch this space, then give a totally inacurate answer. and before anyone says, dont rage on them for that, it not the first seven times they done it. Better Protocol can be thought of for this.

You know you play EVE to much when...
... someone starts a fight with you and you try to orbit him.
... you tell your coworkers to "Fly safe!" when you go home.
... you're afraid to drive through a tunnel in fear of a gatecamp at the other end.
Share or make up your own to pass time.

All i can say is,, i am happy i got my skillqueues filled,, so,, apart for me needing my eve-fix of the day, take ur time to get it sorted properly guys .
And to all the whiners,, seriously,, appreciate what you have, instead of whining when something brakes. Considering the amount of data being transferred to and from the db all the time, i am amazed that there ain't more problems than there is,, i think we should all THANK ccp for the enormous task they're taking on, to entertain us all, instead of nagging when something now and then goes wrong.
Kudos to you all at CCP.
