Hai. I just bought a Chimera on my alt. And I really don't have much of an idea how to fit it.. I'd like a triage fit though.

No offense or anything bro, but you went and bought a carrier without knowing how to fit it? You know it can't jump through gates right?

kosh rose a Beta Reactor Control: Capacitor Power Relay I and a warp disruptor on your 'fleet' setting?
use faction (true sansha or whatever all the same) cprs in lows (no dcII its a chimera).
You'd have to be a ******ed monkey to not be able to fit the mids/highs but judging by the fact you made this thread I wouldn't be surprised if you tried to hull tank your chimera.

Kosh'setup is decent but I would replace the photon field with a cap recharger and go faction where possible.

Yeah I know it can't jump through gates. my alt can set up cyno fields so that's all covered. I just didn't know the best fit for it and wanted to know what everyone else thought was good. =D

I run a full rack of TS CPRs... expensive but worth it. I'll cry if I ever get blown up.
TS SBs also, you want to push the SBs as far as you can go.
I always end up having CPU problems and often need to run an implant... I can't remember what I have plugged in.

Don't listen to these idiots. Ask your fc or someone a real cap pilot how you should fit it.
These people give bad advice specifically about caps. "One death is a tragedy. One million deaths is a statistic." |

There is no need to faction fit your carrier. If you put it in a position where its going to die those mods are unlikely to save you, they are just gonna make you very sad and someone else very happy when they end up floating in space. Fit it T2 and be in a position to replace it and get back in the fight with your insurance payout.
The only exception to this would be a faction smartbomb for a bit of extra range, but thats only really useful f you have fighter bombers on you which orbit a bit further out than other drones. If you have fighter bombers on you you are more than likely a lossmail in the making so dont even bother there if you ask me... --

how poor are you? faction cprs are only around 40m each. Fair enough don't go putting on caldari invuls on your everyday carrier but its a 700m hull, it needs some love.

i think the only faction i would throw at a carrier would be IN EANMS (Archon), or maybe neuts.

How much isk you have is not directly relative to common sense. But if you are paying 700mil for a chimera hull you have bigger issue to address before arguing the toss about faction mods --

For most carrier pilots the hi-slots are the only issue . Will you be a rep/support type ship ? or fly drones for DPS ?
The rest will be your choice of tank or capacitor stuffs . The primary way to kill a carrier is to neut its cap down. Keep that in mind.

DCU in highs is *always* a bad idea.
2/3x rep mods, neut, cloak, smartbomb, triage mod voilß, it's not rocket science :)

Faction cap power relays are nice, but they are only 1% better than betas. For chimera that you will be actually using in combat faction power relays will not make a lot of difference in reality as when you are going to die you will die with them as fast as with betas. So I would suggest using betas in fleets and faction (if you have them) when you are hugging the shield somewhere and boosting a pos (if you actually need them for your fit).

nope, never used a carrier. I don't spend most of my eve time in a chimera either.
in fact this is my main carrier, I'm not an alt.

Its not the *uber* 1% more regen, its a combination of that and the *uber* 1% less shield boost nerfing. The fact that theyre relatively cheap is another thing. TBH as far as faction mods go on my thanny, its faction EANMS and smarty, on my chimera its faction smarty, and when Im using it more solo, a cheap faction boost amp. Never used faction CPRs, but thats why you WOULD use em, if you wanted to :P Also..heres a fit
Highs: 1x Smarty, 1x Cap Shield Xfer, 1x Smartbomb, 1-2x Neut, 0-1x Cloak Mids: 1x Cap Shield Booster, 2x Invuln, 1x Photon, 1x SeBo, 1x Boost Amp, 1x Cap Recharger Lows: 1-2x Cap Flux, 1-2x PDS, 0-1x CPR, 0-1x Damage Control (depends whut u want)
Agree with Sokratesz...fitting a DCU is almost ALWAYS fail, but on my thanny (non carrier 5, chimera char has carrier 5 fighters 5, etc etc) I fit 1 DCU cause I'm sorta OCD about having 10 fighters :)
