I didn't see a thread already existing for this, so I apologize if there's already been one made. I have a few issues with it right now.
There is no way to sort the contacts at all other than standing. On TQ, I add people to different folders that I've labeled, such as 'diplomats', 'super capital pilots' 'corp x members' etc. It's incredibly annoying and somewhat frustrating that you can't do this at all on the current build. Having some renameable folders below where the blocked folder is, and allow me to drag and drop different names into those folders regardless of standings would be absolutely awesome and incredibly great. If it stays the way it is, war, mercenary, and intel gatherers in general will have a really hard time keeping track of different entities.
It would also be nice if you could add an option where you can adjust all contacts in your book based on their corp standings. I.e. if I add 3 people to my contacts, from corp x. then I set the actual corp x to terrible standings, there should be an option to reflect that to all of corp x members I have in my contacts. This is no where near as crucial as the above issue, which is almost gamebreaking for a lot of people tbh, but would be damn nice.
Anyway. The new UI is looking really nice and much more polished, if only you could add some more functionality as listed above. ---

This is a huge stealth nerf to empire wars.
Also this is ******ed in other ways, I can be friend with someone and still shoot them in space, so I can't set the personal blue because I still want them on my overview.
In all, basing an address book on standings that are mostly relevant for overview and POS/station stuff is a pretty stupid decision.
Arbitrary named folders are a necessity, and all the better if they can belong to more than one (that would make them more like categories/tags actually). Also make them stored on server. having recently changed computer sorting out all my contacts (few hundreds) in their respective folders is something I could have gone without...
This remade feature is a huge step back so far. -- 081014 : emoragequit, char transfered to a friend, 090317 : back to original owner blog |

CCP already confirmed they are useless and have no timeframe for adding folders back in.

Glad it's not just me who sees the loss of the arbitrary named folders as a HUGE loss. ---

This is a VERY important issue and hasn't been addressed at all by CCP, and with everyone else just looking at and hyping over PI, hasn't got the attention it deserves.

It's great, a brilliant change and a move towards a better EVE.

Lack of folders is a REAL pain :-(
Empire wars need that.

It's not just empire wars that require or benefit from this.
Either way, I'm still looking for the opt-out button on eveGate.

You're kidding?
Did you misread it? Are they adding an Enemy Addressbook to supplement this new "Friendly friends addressbook"?
Is this how they are going to fix that bug where people are offline but show up as online? By simply making the addressbook unusable in any useful way so nobody even notices any more?
That's awful. Why would they even do that? |

I have to agree in my address book I have a folder for miners I know, Industry people, transports that I know, and people that I can run missions with not including things like war targets if im at or people to avoid when im afraid of war. Removing folders from the address book is like removing folder from windows... without them its a tangled mess.

Still no indication of folders in the new evegate version.
Something tells me they aren't aware of the situation. |

Oh... they are aware....
It's just that Prism X is involved. If you want something *******sing up properly, you have to get Prism X to do it. |
