There have been the forums on what ship is better, looks better, fufills its intended roll, fastest, higher DPS, Ext. But so far i have not seen a forum on the undoubtably WORST ship ever. So? Have at it. What is the undeniable worst looking, performing, and just overall 'no one wants to buy' ship in EVE. My votes on the vigil... i have NEVER seen it in all my EVE life.

Idk.. could almost find a purpose and use for every ship.
Really.. the worst ship is the one that is flown by a pilot that doesn't know wtf they are doing in that ship.

IMHO the Hawk, AF missile boat based on the Merlin T1 hull is at least in the running for the worst ship. For it's mission, it's horribly nerfed, and will suffer greatly until CCP fixes Rockets.

So if CCP fixed rockets.. it wouldn't be half bad? Then wouldn't the problem lay in the weapon and not the ship?

im thinking maybe the astarte

So, I'm sitting in a vigil when I check the forums on the ingame browser. I feel so discriminated against.
My vote goes to the Scythe. I have no idea what the point of that ship is. It's a crappy mining cruiser with a tracking link bonus and crappy CPU. There is absolutely no reason to fly it, ever. ====== Your signature is freakishly huge for this forum. Please resize according to the forum rules, thanks. Shadow. |

My vote goes to the Procurer. It's a mining barge. The Scythe outmines it.

It has a solid 3/3/3 slot layout, meaning it can fit the holy-grail of tackle Point/Web/MWD, 3 lows for speed mods, and enough CPU/grid for a NOS and 2 AC's.
Also has the highest speed of any T1 frig, getting close to intercepter speeds.
That equals the BEST suicide tackler ------------------------

1) Muninn (argh) 2) Hel (half ehps than other moms and useless bonus) 3) EOS (back in the days it was a bit op, but it got overnerfed badly) 4) Tampest (so and so dmg, so and so slot allocation, so and so speed/agility, low hps) 5) pick an AF :P (ok cept afew ones)

Well, first off - there have been lots of threads on this. Everyone says the same thing pretty much every time.
For the most part - you can do good work with a lot of ships which people just don't happen to like. That doesn't make them a terrible ship. Just because something else is - better ... under some circumstances doesn't make the ship that it is ... better ... than - terrible.
For example - the Procurer and the Scythe are both useful ships. Neither is terrible. There may be ships that can out perform them - under some circumstances - but they are not terrible ships. Saying that they are - is simplistic.
The Procurer does not require you to have any training in Faction Frigate, much less Faction Cruiser - but is the first of the Mining Barges. With Faction Frigate II - you can get a mining frigate, earn the money to buy one and spend all your training time on something that will further serve your goal to advance towards a Hulk - which a mining Cruiser will not.
Mining Cruisers are however much easier to get into - and can mine more than a mining frigate.
So - which is better - depends on your needs and goals. Each ship serves a different purpose better than the other. Training directly for mining barges while making do with a mining frigate is one route - training mining cruisers will get you more money faster but help you none in advancing to a Hulk.
Now - compare the Scythe - to the Arbitrator. Both are Mining Cruisers. The Arbitrator simply isn't a very good one. It's far worse than the Scythe as a mining cruiser. Yet - the Arbitrator is a fairly good combat vessel - probably a better one than a Scythe ... though I've not actually tried using the Scythe as other than a mining Cruiser.
Another example is the Rookie ships. Clearly the "worst" ships in the game - they serve their purpose - which is to serve until you can get something better. Without them though - where would you be?
The Burst on the other hand - is clearly the worst ship in it's class - for it has no drone. All the other Mining Frigates have a drone. This means that all the other mining frigates can mine in .8 space and below - since they have a drone to defend themselves with. The Burst doesn't. Also, the Burst only has 1 low slot so you can only fit one cargo hold expander on it.
Still - you can do useful work even with a Burst ... it's just better if you do that work in .9 or 1.0 systems. And ... after all ... it's got 3 mid slots. How many mining frigates can serve as tacklers? Eh?
That said though ... for any Minmatar characters I create ... I take the time to train Faction Frigate II for one of the other factions - and use their mining frigate.

burst - like many ships it's crap compared to the others of it's class, but deciding to give a ship that needs low slots 3 mid slots and then giving it lowest cpu of it's class? that's just cruel. Also the fact that theres about as much chance of ccp fixing it as there is of hell freezing over (baring a frigate wide rebalance).
Honarable mentions go to -> electronic attack firgates, assault frigates, all rocket ships, rapier and friends.

Augoror.
And no, it's not useful as bait, the dura-Maller is.
And no, the cap transfer can't be justified, as there is no reason whatsoever to fly a cap transfer ship over something with simple DPS, RR or other functions.

Contrary to the OP, I think the Vigil is one of the best ships for the buck in the game. It is the holy grail of ninja salvaging vessels, among other things.

Hawk is bad. It's only real redeeming feature is that it has the longest engagement range of any frigate-sized ship apart from an Ishkur with drone range modules and sensor boosters. Obviously this long range is wasted if you don't have someone to tackle targets for you.
I also find that the Rookie Ships are a bit lacking in most scenarios. I have 12 million SPs in gunnery and could not take on an anathema successfully with my Reaper's civilian autocannon and mining laser
Overall though I find that every ship has at least some kind of niche where it's unequalled. For others, they may find general purpose usefulness via an unconventional fitting *Laser Vigil *ahem**

But if I have to vote, the Ares. Not that it isn't a fine ship for its role but every time I fly it I end up dying in some incredibly stupid way. ---- Proper piracy starts at home. |

My Harpy hits out to 120km, love to see a Hawk do that.
The Hawk's redeeming feature is its shield tank.

The Vengeance
The bonus says it all.
Amarr Frigate Skill Bonus: 5% bonus to Rocket Damage per level
People have better luck just fitting it with lasers.
Which brings me to contender 2
The Retribution
1 med slot.
Meaning this is one of the few AFs that cannot actually be used as a tackler.
and further more why do i even need a sig? |
