How much did Alienware pay you to prioritize their light-blinky keyboard thingy above all other bug fixes?
I feel a bit used...after all I pay for your service, yet simple requests like (fix the camera zoom so the camera is not up my ship's arse when I come out of jump) go ignored.
I feel betrayed.....arent we supposed to be family? Or is that just the illu$ion you're peddling? ___________________________________________________ CSM - Bring back Medium Shader! |

If this is the only thing you are whining about I would say CCP is doing a p. good job.
Originally by: Jim Raynor EVE needs danger, EVE needs risks, EVE needs combat, even piracy, without these things, the game stagnates to a trivial game centering around bloating your wallet with no purpose. |

I'm slightly puzzled by this too.
Why implement a 'feature' that is only going to benefit what I'm guessing is a tiny tiny proportion of players when there are little things that could be fixed which would benefit everyone?
I'm not donning a tinfoil hat here, and will not make any claim that CCP were paid by alienware or anyone else to do this but it does strike me as a little strange.

We haven't seen a whole list of things that are going to happen with the patch. There are probably going to be some bug fixes so maybe it's a good idea to just wait until the 18th of May and vote Cat 4 CSM in the meantime! <3

Why not?
Seriously, how bitter are u ppl? You cry about the stupidest things. They have devs working on ingame issues so it's not like their gonna fix the issues any faster if they didn't implement features like this. Try to get that through your head before you go criticizing the devs/CCP.
I know CCP can't say it to you so I will, stfu.

Edited by: Stick Cult on 01/05/2010 02:11:49 you realize how stupid this is? The team (or more likely, person) that did this feature is probably not affiliated with bug fixes at all. And then, this "feature" probably took a day of one person's work to implement, considering it's lights that light up at certain events (just tack them along with sound effect triggers or add in a few triggers) and alienware would have an api to let them do it in the first place.
Also, it's a lot easier to implement features than it is to hunt bugs.

And here I was thinking it was common knowledge that even their janitors had PhDs in computer science and a minimum of 10 years experience in programming and bug hunting.

Dear CCP, why are you cleaning that mess up in the second floor restrooms, when you could be focusing on other issues, like restructuring the global information networks so that I don't lag in fleet fights.
Seriously, you could just use one of the other restrooms, and devote that attention to fixing my personal problems.
I pay you 15$ a month, and you think you have a right to consider your health above me not lagging? |

Yup, I'm sure the keyboard effects will be a constant drain on resources and will require continually dev time to maintain. .

I bought a new vacuum cleaner yesterday. Can CCP make that light up too when I'm playing EVE?
Because, you know, that would be way cooler than having bugs fixed and stuff.

Read the thread , it takes no time at all to implement(true !!!)

most EVE players turn sound off, so it's a true statement

max it took an hour to code this, in return for a check from alienware that will go to benefiting the game, worth it i think.

Let's be clear on this:
If CCP do or change something in EVE that doesn't directly benefit me, it's exactly like they're stealing my subscription monies.
And stealing is a CRIME, CCP. Got that?
A CRIME!

No, but graphics cards makers weren't waving a pittance at CCP to include some arbitrary crap feature. I say a pittance because, no matter how much it was, it wasn't enough to smooth over the amount of people they seem to have really ****ed off with it.
Also, as an ex-coder, I agree - much easier to add something than to figure out "OH FUUUUU WHERE DID I WRONG MAH CODE" ---- Sig starts here --- "Anyone caught using this exploit will be punished accordingly, as this can easily be tracked and verified in our logs."
Pity they can't track or verify anything else. |
