if its not a tool, then why are people force to be in it in the first place? If they are going to continue to force people in it, then why not have adjustment options?

This basic idea gets asked for at least one per week. The same answer applies: no local in not meant to be an intel tool.
CCP are looking at ways to alter local to make it less an intel tool so they are very unlikely to introduce ways to filter or sort local. Macrointel, the place were the nature order of the universe does not hold sway. Pirates and ore thief's are congratulated by carebears for the actions. |

If they wanted to make it non intel, then they should have added the option to leave the channel all together. that too has been suggested for years. They don't seem to want to make up their minds about it by what I've seen.

we could just make delayed local default like it is in WH space. problem solved.

Well, I'm eager to see new implementation of local as a non-intel channel. I'm sure flying a JF, nullsec mining and ratting/plexing will be way more dramatic and funny this way... I'm also sure jumping 500 men (and women, of course, not meaning to be sexually offensive, just sayin) fleet to a system with another 500 in local without knowing numbers in advance will be very beneficial to the server load and the mysterious thing called "game content", part of which is not:
1. guns cycling 2. ship going pop while trying to load grid 3. node crashing 4. wasting good few hours on a black screen
So, yeah, making local sortable (while there is one) will definitely make me feel better about money I spend each month.
