Nice read, Zeus.
I do miss the moral of the story a bit, both your corp and Ivy league seem to be doing fine?

Zeus Maximo wrote:After all that has been said over the last few days and the change in how Marmite pilots fly around I have to say that something like this has happened before.
A little over a year ago my corporation started a 12 month war against Ivy League(Eve University). Knowing that we were a mere fraction of their size we accepted that we could not take on their blob. Instead we decided to wage a form of guerrilla warfare on them. We would look at each players killboard and stance in the alliance. Primary targets would begin with directors, CEOS, FCs, and the wealthy. There were our targets because they were the most known and if they died their name would easily stand out to the grunts on the killboard. Hourly locators were in effect to see if they ever skipped a beat. Once they did something irregular we would track them down and kill them. Didnt matter what they were in, if the leader was paranoid to lose a ship, everyone would be paranoid.
I know Marmite isn't the same size as Ivy League or even remotely as organized but they are acting as Ivy League once did. I will try to explain in phases how Ivy League evolved over our year long war. Marmite has a lot more pressure on them so this timeline could very well be accelerated and apply to them too.
1st Phase: Alliance shrugs off smaller corporations and continues to think nothing will happen to them Result- Expensive losses start to occur making people pissed. Average members start to notice that daily activities are being effected.
2nd Phase: Alliance finally recognizes the small entity by forming blobs to combat the sightings Result- Small entity is too fast to be caught and logs off once the blob catches up. Members of blob become discouraged after a few roams. Members are starting to feel unsafe when alone. The parasites begin to leave because they no longer get to do normal daily activities.
3rd Phase: Active players that were once apart of the blobs begin to ignore the form ups. Alliance becomes divided where some want to stop the problem and others want to ignore it Result- Smaller blobs are easily countered and get wiped out. Lots of members leave due to tension and loss of ships. People that don't want to leave go inactive. Remaining players go the cheap route. Lots of Drama!
4th Phase: Membership feels helpless and overwhelmed. Alliance goes into a dormant stage with little activity and a questionable future. Either it is to big to fail or all that remains is the original membership. Result- Alliance fails/remains inactive
In my opinion Marmite is still in the 2nd phase. When we started to destroy 10 bil a week on Ivy League they called a retreat to Aldrat like Marmite did to Uedama. Unfortunately nobody likes to be told where to live, what to fly, how to fly, and to not die so that is where all of the drama started. Saving face is a temporary action, it cannot stop the inevitable. If Marmite can't turn around fast then they will have a tough time ahead of them like Ivy League once did.
This was posted because I believed there was precedents. Sorry for the long post :)
Good post. They is at Phase 4+ ATM tho. Members are droppin like flies that landed on my panties.

Be nice if Dan-lee would put this amount of effort into the Game of Pvping then he/she is putting into the forums jeese then maybe we'd have some damn fun....
but he/she is having too much fun being a carebear forum poster....
Last night we flew around in frigs chasing marmites till they logged off....
Marmite I believe is in stage 3.... Zeus... and they are in denial.... look at the eve kill reports.... they killed 8,000+ ships last month.... but what are they up to now.... the first week is almost over and they haven't broke the thousand mark... that's proof enough to me that we are screwing up the Marmite War machine...
your Kill percentage is down roughly 70% because your Avoiding Fights with an aggressive force.....

"The Marmite Block List" by VegasMirage
So today, we saw an 8-man Marmite bc fleet on the Sivala gate in Uedama and another 12 or MORE of them docked up in the same system. They had remote reps on both sides of the gate and a Falcon + Legion in Hatakani 2 jumps away. More were online in Ikao, Jita and 2 more in Amarr. This was Marmite prime time. Very few of our guys were on.
We formed up and waited a few jumps from Ikao. We were hoping they'd agressed one of their war targets we added (we added them all). Some random Domi and a Maulus lumbered past us and into them.
Beads of sweat slowly formed along my brow line. My hands were shaking and my voice cracking while I spoke to my fleet members. "Anybody have reservations, we can turn back now?" The silence was numbing, the suspense knuckle whitening... I had to change my sweaty underpants again.
"FC FC, there's a Domi and a Maulus warping into the Uedama gate."
Easily outnumbered 2:1, I decided YOLO Leeeeeeroy!
They agressed it, we warped in and they insta-scattered leaving their target Domi in 1/2 armor and leaving their mates to die. We tackled a Deimos and one of their RR ships who burnt off gate. A wolf sat at zero and got insta blapped. The rest of them got away and then smacked up local about how terrible we were at tackling... go figure... a 47au warp, local spike and any of them getting caught. Amazed. We lost nothing.
Smack in local after losing ships, sending hate mail, blocking players who blow you up... Nothing new for carebears and terrible players, but for Marmite I expected more. Maybe, finally we'd see a "gf" in local. Nothing, but smack, hate mail and ofc once you start playing their game of "smack attack" we get the eventual block.
The Block.
Later our frenz Devil's Warrior ended up killing more of their ships:
Another Bhaalgorn, Domi and some other ganks... but the chance to form up and have a fleet fight just didn't register with Tora. no more games... it's real this time!!! |

What we get from fighting Marmite are blue balls and The Block.
This is utter, utter bullshit.
The Facts:
Vegas and his alts/ girls had 4 vindicators, 2 proteus', 2 guardians and 2 neutral reppers at least. They were not unnumbered as he claims.
We had 8 in fleet, a mixed bag and certainly not all BC's as he claims (Deimos and a wolf aren't BCs for a start!) We had no RR at the time. We did not have a falcon or legion in Hatakani, nor did we have 12 players waiting in Uedama.
As soon as the scrap ended, Vegas started smacking (poorly) in local. Which was not Uedama as he claims.
And, if anyone has seen the utter shite that Vegas dribbles in local would understand why we block him :-)
Vegas has been proved to lie again and again and this is yet another one of them.
Vegas, why don't you tell us all the nice story of when you and your alts all docked up the other day and refused to fight the 'carebears' because you were scared?

The Facts: Vegas and his alts/ girls had 4 vindicators, 2 proteus', 2 guardians and 2 neutral reppers at least. This was the fleet Vegas engaged: http://p0wnd.nl/kb/index.php/kill_detail/52488/As soon as the scrap ended, Vegas started smacking (poorly) in local. Which was not Uedama as he claims. And, if anyone has seen the utter shite that Vegas dribbles in local would understand why we block him :-) Vegas has been proved to lie again and again and this is yet another one of them. Vegas, why don't you tell us all the nice story of when you and your alts all docked up the other day and refused to fight the 'carebears' because you were scared? Vegas lacked something quite important from his plan... the bait. edit: just noticed No sorry Culo, the engagement happened in Sivala, the smack fest continues in Uedama. Not the Domi. I'm just pointing out that the U-MAD proteus escaped.
lawl - he was waiting on the other-side to grab the scattering cockroaches... but they warped to station in system

If you follow trends and compile statistics, The 'Honey' 100% of the time does nothing but go stale in the 'trap'. To be fair, statistics and patterns, by design, were meant to be changed. Just not by Marmite LOL.

They agressed the Domi, we warped in and they insta-scattered leaving their target Domi in 1/2 armor and leaving their mates to die.

Hey New Guy. you are living proof Torrabad is only hiring weak minded, easily impressionable, youngblood to fill the ranks. Someday you will look back and say "WTF did i defend this derpfail wannabe merccorp so adamantly?"
Tora himself said in local last night, "5Bx 10 mercsxmany weeks = poor" He is so desperate he is burning the Marmite coffers like it is -100 degrees Celcius and all he has to keep warm is piles and piles of ISK .
