Hello. Im trying to figure out if i should get a widow. I am in a null sec alliance, so pvp is there. I was just wondering if it could handle some pve on the side. If so, can you help me out with a mid slot tanking fit, please since battleclinic is currently unavailable?

No.
Now that people can quote that, here's why
You would basically be flying an extremely expensive bullseye target, black ops do less dps and have less tank than even their tier 1 counterparts.

While I agree the Widow does not tank as well as a scorpion..i think it clearly has a better gank.
1 additional launcher and 2 missile based bonuses. That being said, it is a weaker tank then its T1 counter part on defense, so I do not see the role for it really in PvE...That said in PvP i think its great. Unstealth with some buddies and lay into something with it. Its far from a almost a stealth raven. That being said if your going that route..stealth bombers=far cheaper!.

I guess you can make a widdow tank, but I wouldn't use one in 0.0 because you are going to need crystal implants and a ton of faction mods for it to be effective:

Yes, confirming this is the best fit you can use with your Widow. Try to stick to belt ratting as much as possible, and let us know where you plan on using it so we can give you a wide berth.

WTF black ops rule, but why tank one? faction jammers ftw,
They are arguably the best jammers in the game, i can easily permajam a battleship with a widow and the correct rigs
They can transport cov ops gangs and they are a spearhead of any cov ops fleet
They are not.. tanking ships, they are jamming ships, that hurt people who are unfortunate enough to be surrounded by a few of them
The widow is arguably the best Black ops for its role, its a caldari ship specialised in jamming and behind enemy lines espionage and pwnage, don't tank it, ewar it
