hello. i was wondering if there was a decent fit for the scorpion to do pve. I would use battleclinic, but for some reason it won't pull up on my computer anymore. So, I'm asking you if you know of a fit I could look at?

Are you going to jam the NPC's to death?

A scorpion can be rather useful in wormholes, against sleepers... Other forms of pve, not so.

If ratting counts as PvE...I tried ratting in a Blackbird with some success. Damage isn't that huge but it works. ECM gives a nice GTFO option if something happens. And because I can almost permajam the rats my shield is at ~100% most of the time which is also a good thing in case of. Range and damage type selection helps too.
Scorp is equal in that point. Same ECM strength bonus, no weapon bonus. And a nice set of tool slots on top. The minor damage output is not such a problem against small groups of NPCs (ratting/WHling). Only in missions it makes no sense. You just cannot jam enough ships. All you need in missions is damage and tank. -
Save the missiles from the glowing blob :S

Edited by: Zilabeth Vomarr on 23/03/2010 19:05:35 In a gang flying a mission against high DPS NPC's, especially if they are battleship heavy, I have flown a Scorpion with some (fun) success. The main advantage, perhaps the only one, is that when your fleet pops onto grid, the scorpion with, heavy or cruise missles and drones, can do a fine job of taking down frigates and cruisers. When the battleships close range, or in case you are warping in right on top of them, the Scorpion can reliable jam two to five battleships effective removing their DPS load on your tank (which should not be the Scorpion) far faster than the fleet could ever kill them. This will allow the fleet tanker to survive long enough for you to kill enough of the non-jammed BS's to get ahead of the damage curve. In this sense, in the right circumstances, the Scorpion can knock out far more opposing fire power faster than any other non-ecm ship.
Also, in a room that has many warp scramming and other annoying frigates, a Scorpion using a jammer can free a fleetmate from scramming/webbing trouble faster than guns and missiles can every time.
Also, if you just like the Scorpion, and what (scotch-blooded Caldari doesn't), consider the Navy Scorpion which is a tanking monster.
The same can be tried solo, but I have generally found that hit-and-run and high DPS Raven to be more effective.

Ok. Thanks for the info. I knew the scorpion only had bonuses to electronic warfare but I was just wondering if it had a chance to go solo ratting in nullsec belts with the right fit for just enough tank and dps. I guess it's just time for me to figure out which route to take. Thanks anyway.

Heh back when I first started playing (like <2mil sp) me and a friend ran level 4s in a scorp and a caracal, caracal had hardeners fit and scorp had a pair of shield transporters, it was fun when we still had no idea how to do stuff in eve =P |
