Ok I'm thinking about creating a new lottery game. Well 4. But going to start with 1 to begin with see how that goes. So breif details. If there is enough interest I will publish the full details.
State Lottery
Price: 10mil Minimum ticket count: 100 Prize: Caldari Navy Raven Period: Hopefully once a month
Ok some Q&A
Why are you not doing this on your main account?
2 Reasons mainly. 1 I don't want to be constantly harrassed by lottery business and want to deal with it on my terms. 2 Each draw will have its own character to keep the funds for each seperate.
How do I know you wont rip me off?
Simple common sense. OK yes if we get alot of entries that will be alot of money so why will I not be tempted to just run off... well... if we get that many entries 3 or 4 more times I could stand to make alot more isk in the long run.
So you're making profit off us?
Yes, like every lottery commission in the world does, even charitable ones. Well... appart from the ones with bad business sense of course. But the isk gain might not be as much as you think since I will be supporting the account on plex.
So you mentioned more games?
Yes. My plan is 1 for each of the four main player factions with a relevant prize ship for each.
Are multiple entries allowed?
Entries to more than one draw are allowed and multiple entries to the same draw are also allowed but the latter should be made as seperate deposists per entry.
What type of draw system will you be using?
Simple name out of a hat. If you have more than 1 entry your name goes in more than once.
Why not a true lottery with numbers and tickets?
Simple fact is these will require alot of extra work with no real gain and it's more open to abuse and staff i would have to take on with the extra work.
Will you be using 3rd party holders?
No. Simple fact is a third party holder is no more trustworthy than myself. Those of you who read the new will know that a recent trusted party of a corp finally stole from them after a long time of being trusted once the temptation got to big. Also if something happens while the prize is in the possession of the third party that could get complicated. At least if we retain the prize it will be our fault if we lose and will have to replace it.
So why wont you run off with the money?
This again? see above. Also to add to that my main is a member of a corp in a small alliance that takes fraud very seriously. If there is enough interest to make running the game fesable I will be making a Corporation to run the lottery from and taking it into that alliance.
If you have an interest in this please post so. If you have any questions please feel free to post them.

Yes, a lottery with no third party run by an exclamation-point alt with numbers drawn with no independent verification and, above all, a less than 50% expected return surely seems like a safe and fun thing to do
not that there aren't half a billion eve lotteries anyway _____________________ Horrors! Demons in the deep! |

Problem with naming my main character is it will open it to a flood of lottery related emails or potential abuse which I don't want to have to deal with on my main character.
The Reason the character has an explaination is because I only created it today. And you need to readthe main post again because I specifically stated numbers will not be drawn. It will be names out of a hat. And last I checked Navy Ravens were going for little under 600mil at its cheapest which isn't a less than 50% return on the total prize fund. The reason the ticket limit is 100 is because there is no telling what is going to happen to prices between now and whenever and there's no reason not to draw the lottery even if it doesn't meet the minimum count as long as I do not end up out of pocket. It's a safety clause... If I'm going to at least break even there's no reason not to draw anyway. If I do go ahead with this plan i will be opening an account specifically deddicated to recieving the various prize funds for this lottery which means if I buy plex to support it there's potentially no profit at all at 100 tickets depending on the price of a plex. And I can see your counter argument now "why should we pay for your account?" Simple fact is I'm trying to do something to build trust in the community and develop something the comunity can take part in in my free time. I'm already devoting potentially hours of sifting through wallet information to make sure every name gets correctly entered into the draw so why should I pay for something that I am already devoting time to and can not take part in myself? Simple fact is I can't afford to be paying for a new account out of my real life wallet.

Originally by: Imperial Lottery Oh right yeah I forgot to address the third party holder thing. Simple fact there is there's nothing that says they will not steal the prize or use it and get it destroyed. Do you read the eve articles recently about the trusted courier stealing 3tillion+ worth of ships? In the end there is no extra garauntee a third party will not run away with the ship than there is I would run away with your isk.
Chribba is a well proven 3rd party middle man. He is as reliable as you can get it in EVE. He will charge you though got his services, but if you want to run this the anonymously way you need to work it our with Chribba or some others who have a darn good reputation in EVE.
Oh, and I would not buy a lottery ticket from you for one single ISK. Someone who hide behind a exclamation mark with the weak excuse of not wanted to be bothered screams and stinks scam from here to the moon.
