Hi!
I started doing missions a few weeks ago and read a few guides and stuff, and it is always mentioned that low sec missions are payed better then high sec missions. However, nobody says how much exactly low sec pays more.
It would be also interesting if there is a big increase at the change from high-sec to low-sec or is going from 0.5 to 0.4 more or less the same as going from 0.6 to 0.5, with respect to mission pay outs.
Thanks for your help.

I get up to about 7K LP in hi sec (iirc) and 12k in low sec. Bounties too are higher.
But unless you are in a decent low sec corp which controls the area, you won't be able to use a faction / deadspace fitted ship to run them (well, you'll be... till popped) so the drop in DPS and tank will make missioning longer and eat part of that delta.
TLDR: low sec is only worth if you are in a resident corp there. - Auditing and consulting

So you are saying that, if you can do low sec missions in a standard mission outfit they are almost worth twice as much then high sec missions?

To add to what VV say:
The increase in low sec rewards influence the mission payout, the time bonus and the LP, not the NPC bounties or the loot.
So it is worth it only if you have trained the special connection skills for the low sec agents you want to use.
They will increase the LP reward for the mission and then they get multiplied by the low sec increase in agent quality. As you get a compound effect it start to be noticeable and worth the risk.
Special connection skills: Bureaucratic, Financial, Hi tech, Labor, Military, Political, Trade.
Every kind of agent is influenced by 2 special connection skills.
Before training those, train negotiation to 4 or better 5 as it increase the basic payout, the bonus and the LP, while the special connections skills only affect LP.
Generally speaking, as you have started doing mission only recently, I would suggest you to learn the ropes in high sec and then search for a low sec Corp as VV suggested when you are capable of doing higher level missions.
The gain is much more noticeable when you do high level mission.
Note: if you know what you are doing low sec isn't so dangerous, the really dangerous zones are usually the first system entering low sec and the mission hubs with several level 4 quality 20 agents.
I have done missions with a low skill character in low sec Minmatar space for several months without problems (loss of a shuttle and a clone to a smartbomb gatecamp in more than 6 months) but I had already a good experience gathered with other characters.
The main problem is that you need to be alert to the risk of being probed, so you need to be more alert than in high sec.
If you like and get an adrenaline rush it can be nice, if you aren't interested in it it is a bore.

Eh eh I think I know what exact system it was. It's sort of really really tranquil for being in that position and it's a situation that does not apply too well to the other empires (where most go, ie Caldari lands). - Auditing and consulting

Agent effective quality is what determines isk and LP rewards for mission completion. It does not impact npc bounties or loot drops. The scale is linear from 1.0 to 0.0 sec. An agent in 0.4 sec will pay only slightly better than one in 0.5 sec. However, the difference between 0.1 and 0.5 sec is roughly a 75% increase in LP and isk rewards because agent effective quality rises several levels with each security decrease. Once again, this increase is for mission rewards only, not bounties.
So with all that in mind, if you run level 4 blockade in high sec, let's say 0.6 sec, at best you can get around 6k LP + around 40M isk in loot, bounties and cash reward. Run that same mission for a comparable agent in 0.1 and you can expect about 11k LP and maybe 43M isk total payout. At 1000k isk/LP, that works out to a grand total of 8M isk extra on the most profitable lvl4 mission in game.
If you can avoid getting ganked while missioning in low sec, the higher payout is worth it. If you cannot then high sec is the better option. That said, you will never learn to avoid getting ganked in high sec. So even if you lose a few ships early on you're probably better off low sec missioning in the long run. Just be aware that you will lose some ships to players early on. -----------------------------------------------------

I was working to get standing for Boundless creation.
It was the best location to get together a storyline agent and some decent combat agent for my low skill Minmatar character.
The shuttle loss instead was in Evati while leaving the Boundless creation agent there. It was at the time of Winter Snow camping that system, so old history.
After getting the standings for almost a year my morning routine included running 5 R&D agents in a cluster of low sec system, with 3 of them in low sec system. That while sipping my coffee.
Those gatecamp were even a source of extra income as I sold warp stabilizers in the camped systems with a good hazard surcharge.
