So there I was doing my thing, joined a random nub corp with a random alt, warped to their mining gang in my little thrasher, started to violence their boats, when right in the middle of the ordeal I notice that the CEO exclaimed something profane in the corp chat, and I was back in my NPC corp chat, and I all of a sudden had GCC for continuing to engage my moments earlier corp mate. Luckily the last ship popped just before concord so rudely interrupted my tea party. Now, I was under the impression that you;
A) Couldn't be kicked from a corp while in space without at least a 24 hour stasis period B) This can't happen mainly to prevent valid targets from becoming invalid while you're shooting them
Now I know what you're thinking "How ironic, a griefing, game mechanic abusing ganker is crying about game mechanics, welcome to EVE LOL", I assure you I do this only for entertainment, as a break from the rigors of modern EVE society. I've ganked enough clueless corpies in hulks to more than make up for the thrasher loss, but this little event tickled me in a funny sort of way.
Do you suppose maybe CCP flagged this character in some way because of the previous incidents? I can only assume that at least a couple petitions have been filed over this character. Now, I never stayed in space to avoid being kicked for an extended period of time. I merely did my ganking and moved on to the next corp in a expedited fashion, usually staying in the corp for no longer than it took to extract what tears with which they would part.
Has anyone else experienced this?
For being such good sports, I present to you a brief excerpt of our last conversation, edited to protect the innocent;
Sad CEO > now that you've done that we're going to hunt you and kill you for every second you play eve
After I linked him my main and told him where to find me;
Sad CEO > well now im just gonna report you for grieving Sad CEO > say bye bye Ganking Alt > lol Ganking Alt > you haven't been playing this game very long Ganking Alt > i'm sorry you don't understand how it works Sad CEO > no i understand that my uncle works at CCP
Oh my indeed.
This is an unrelated alt, since trial accounts can post on the forum.
TL;DR Got kicked from corp in space while shooting a corp member, got GCC, got concorded. Orly?

Yup - you had no roles so kicking you was immediate. .

Odd, all of the previous corps didn't kick me, I left on my own accord after I was quit finished. Perhaps they gave me roles as soon as I joined.
My only problem with this is, if I join them and they are war dec'd, does that mean I'm not a valid target until I have roles? What if they never give me any roles? If I'm flagged as being at war, and the decing corp shoots me, and then the corp kicks me and the aggressor subsequently gets concordonkened wouldn't that be a nasty exploit? Something doesn't add up here, needs more answers!

Yes! It's a vast conspiracy because the things you've done in game are so common and overdone it makes you stand out from the crowd!
Sorry, but it sounds like a well known game mechanic that did it, and not the result of any special attention you so clearly crave.

Rule has always been that you can NOT get kicked from a corp while in space, they recently changed that you can also get kicked when logged (but still undocked), outside GM intervention or not.
If it's possible to be kicked WHILE in space then something is either horribly wrong or CCP introduced yet another stealth change, thing is that if they did this and the more uhm... "creative" corp CEO's learn of this you're going to see some hilarious losses and whine threads on the forums.
So, if this really happened as stated in the OP, something is wrong.

I am merely a humble ganker seeking the wisdom that is the eve-o forums, I wish only to further my own study of the game. I was under the impression that it was a well known (and often complained about) mechanic that you could not have your aggression flags changed while in space. I have yet to see an informed response to this question. I'm humbly apologize with all my heart for whatever it is you're complaining about.

I was only reacting to your belief that you were singled out, and got special treatment. As long as you're willing to put that delusion aside and consider broad game mechanic changes we're cool.

Edited by: Kilgore Tr0ut on 27/02/2010 18:33:30 It did indeed happen as I described. Here are the game logs from the incident;

Here is the corp chat log, notice the time stamps

It's obvious that the CEO kicked me from the corp, and the instant I was kick a new game log was created indicating I guess a session change. As you can see I was engaged in combat while this happened and had no warning.

Hi Kilgore, if you think something is wrong here with the situation you described, you should definitely petition it. Category: Game Play, then select Corporations and Alliances.
Posting chatlogs in a forum thread isn't going to clear things up... the profanity copy pasta'd in didn't help either... so those have been removed. Good luck with sorting this out.
