Does anyone else get weird graphics when looking at Catalysts?
Image:
This same problem occur on 2 computers, totally independent of eachother, very different in hardware. Tried clearing cache, on both. Sometimes the wing is horizontal, as it should be, but then rotating. Sometimes the wing is a few km away from the rest of the ship.

Hi,
I reported this to CCP.
They closed the Petition because of graphic drivers. Upgraded the drivers and still have them. Told them this all over again.
Seems like they might HAVE to do something about it. Looks terrible.

I've had the same, but you shouldn't petition bugs, you should report them:left side menu>EVE insider>Bug reporting.

Hey there. Yes I also get similar ghosts and random effects, however i have noticed it whilst ratting/ in plexes and such, when the catalyst gets so close, for me , I get like a ghost double, similar to how it shows on your screen there.
There must be some sort of problem it seems.

When CCP took out medium shader setting, they destory the graphic engine. The game never changes it usage on my pair for Asus GTX285 TOPs(Latest Stable Drivers) when I change any of the settings.
*Ships look transparent at times. *Stations are missing textures.
I almost think that CCP should of waited to pull out the shader until they fix what ever issue they where try to fix or possible update. As I have said in many post CCP needs to get back to core game and start fixing the issues. Repair all the broken parts and start to make this game run like no other game on the PC. As I see it now Eve Online is nothing more then one big bug that just barely works.

Same problem on ati 4890x2, and if rotating view while this occurs the polygons will stretch to infinity and create very psychedelic viewing. You can almost hear the gfx card die a little on the inside when rendering the catalyst this way :(

If the shader quality does not change when you switch between high and low shader, it means that your current hardware/driver configuration doesn't support Shader model 3. This is simply DirectX telling us that it will not run properly on your machine and therefore it defaults to what can run. To resolve this issue you need to figure out what is causing the problem. If you file a bug report with a dxdiag file, we might be able to tell you what the problem is.
Removing the medium shader had nothing to do with the issues you are experiencing.

Please file a bug report and we'll take a look at it.

We'd be happy to have you give us a list of the broken parts you wish us to resolve. Even better would be filing a detailed bug report for each problem you encounter.

This is the right way to report bugs. More info here: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Bug_reporting

Got the same issue on someone else's Catalyst I was passing by. Only engines and harpoints were visible, but not the wing itself. However, my own Catalyst don't suffer from this issue. -- Thanks CCP for cu |

I don't have any graphics problems at all (Windows 7, ATI 4870/Asus GeForce7 everything on, latest drivers, the works) only the Catalyst shows up like this (so far).
I even made a screenshot of it. Apparently I am not the only one with this semi-cloaked ship in view ...

I have some weird effect as well. Running Catalyst 10.2 (Win7 64) on my 5870 and I started my second client and saw big white bubbles on the login screen.
And when I tab between my clients and sometimes when I close my clients my desktop brightness is very low.
That same shading effect I have after closing my eve clients sometimes. That disappears when i open any other full screen game and close it.
Don't get that effect from any other games after tabbing or closing them.
