you surround yourself with other people to put yourself in a safer positon, take less risk, and get your arse wiped. and then talk like youre the bad man livin' it dangerous.
talking about people who are taking massive risks in a high security zone and calling them inept, unable.
its laughable really.
defending your right to kill newbies in their first month because thats pvp! thats competition!

yes i do surround myself with people to make myself safer. just like you could have done, but chose not to. i simply speak from what i've seen in the game, nothing more.
undocking, anywhere, in this game is taking massive risks. people who lose ships more often than not lose them due to their own ineptitude and poor planning. just like you did.
i don't see the issue, i chose not to make myself a target, so i'm not a target. you didn't choose to safeguard yourself and lost a ship. this is how the game is designed and works. |

Good question.
Let's ask the suicide gankers.
Their profession seems to be the most heavily promoted, risk averse play style in this game.

simple answer; ccp aren't promoting it. goons are, since they're the ones handing out the isk for ganking miners. |

did you not read the part where i pointed out i've been a high sec miner longer than i've been in null sec?
no, you simply didn't join a corp. that is all there is to it. you chose not to join a corp. that is nobody's fault but your own. even a player as old as a week is an invaluable asset to a pvp fleet. instead you chose to be a solo miner and stay in the npc corp. as a matter of fact, i also did that yet i didn't lose mining ships because i decided to mine aligned, check my overview, and generally not act like an easy target. i didn't freeload on every one. i didn't get in to a corp until i was flying a hulk. so don't give me the "you had everything given to you" bullshit, it simply isn't true.
life was no harder for us than it was for you, however instead of crying like a ***** on the forums we just got on with it. |

Well, that's the popular mantra among the more dense among the single digit I.Q. basement dwellers from SA, anyway.
The real real reason is that events like the 'geddons give CCP free press. Period.
But the question is, is it becoming bad press as time goes on? From what I'm reading in the various MMO forums, it is. I believe it's costing CCP more subs than it's gaining.

i had it easy? i had it exactly the same as you, as i just pointed out. what does my current corp have to do with the situation? correct, it didn't happen to me because i made sure it didn't.

*shrug* i like that goons like to **** things up with their oversized stockpiles of isk. is it good for the game? probably not. does it make it a more interesting an fun game? yes it does.

how long did you actually spend taking risk in high sec before you went and surrounded yourself in safety?
do you think you have reached a point where you could fight players who are not a year behind you? and going through "what you went through back then yada yada" This whole thread has turned into you repeating the same incorrect statement over and over, ignoring anyone who tries to respond. You say they are safe in null sec. You should try it, find out how safe it really is.
The only reason null sec systems have any safety is because they work at it. They spend hours keeping potential invaders out, and it doesn't always work.
Meanwhile you and me in high sec, we can just mine aligned and warp off before a ganker could even come out of warp. We can mine in 100% safety, never worrying about a gank. Some, like you, choose not to, and die because you don't take measures (the same measures you would need to use in null sec) to keep safe. |

No Null sec system is safer than a HS system. Even with 100 corpies in system with you, someone could sneak in and cyno a fleet of 200. Null is only "safe" because they have to work hard to keep it that way.
How much work do you do to keep yourself safe in HS?
Set up an intel network 3 systems out? Check dscan regularly? Mark potential hostiles in local? Fly carefully, using insta BMs and being situationally aware?
Do you do, or even need to do, any of these? |

sigh, you were doing so well at the whole reading and understanding english thing.
what games i play are beyond the point. i'm suited to them all. in a corp that hasn't spoon fed me a single thing, in fact i do more things with people outside my corp rather than the players within my corp. correct, i didn't lose mining ships. yeah i'm defending my right to shoot whoever i want wherever i want, the game allows it so why not? correct, it didn't happen to me.
and what was i spoon fed? [ignore everything else and answer this one, the answer will be hilarious, i guarantee it].
sure i could fight them, would i win? perhaps not, but would i be scared of losing a ship to them? no. i have no issue throwing away a rifter, a merlin, etc. i live in null sec, i've lot plenty of ships all in the effort to keep hold of our sov. |

that's because you were in a 0.5 system, the concord response time is dictated by the security rating of the system. that's how they class it as "more dangerous".
