I'll be brief. I'm interested in running a big prize lottery. There's a lot of competition in the lotto field at the moment, but I think still room for "one to rule them all". So I turned Optech's trusty tech drones to the task and they created this
I'm envisaging a 10 bil jackpot with numbers drawn from the RL Powerball lotto. Tickets would be a mil a pop, and theres an "instants" scratchcard game "Miniball" as well.
Feel free to transfer a few mil isk to Megaball Agent and kick the tyres and I will refund you.
If this were to proceed I would be looking for equity partners to share the risk/reward.

Hmmm a tax on the statistically challenged? Sounds like a business plan!

Profit per ticket estimated around 15% per ticket but ofc depends on the actual prize history. The actual Powerball odds offer an average payout of 50c on the dollar, so Megaball is considerably better odds.

Whatever your profit number is, the expected return for players is 74.07495% or 939160/1267851.

Yep, I call the lottery IRL the "stupid tax" too.

I don't really see it taking off for a few reasons:
1. Players don't like it when the organizers take a decent size cut (>5%) 2. Other organizations with BIG names run bigger lottos for free 3. You don't have the rep to pull off in the Events section

Plus, there's that whole "one in a million" chance that you'll actually be paying out 10 billion. Since no one thinks you would be able to do that, you'd have to put it in the hands of a third party upfront and then your cost of capital would be prohibitive.
