After installing todays patch I seem to get stuck on Acquiring Bulk Data 20/41 after I log in. After about 5 minutes the client just restarts and i m back to login screen.
I did some googling and found that this problem has occured in the past and have tried the following methods to fix it: - Clearing the bulkdata folder - Clearing my cache folder - Running the EVE repair tool.
So far nothing has helped. When i clear my bulkdata folder the client gets to 3/41 then if i press ESC it goes to 4/41, ESC again and 5/41. After that if i press ESC again the loading bar disapears and i have to restart the client.
Any help/advice will be apretiated. |

Well the problem is that after 5 or so minutes the client closes and immediately restarts leaving me witha fresh login screen. If I enter my username and password everything begins again.
I wish CCP could give me the bulkdata files to download from somewhere...

UPDATE
I just received a reply to my petition:
Quote: Hi,
Everytime you press ESC you're not actually stopping the download, you're just closing the window.
I suggest you leave it running for a while (without pressing ESC) and see if it's just because of slow download from the server.

I ll try this and keep you guys updated. Thanks to GM Xamother for the quick reply.

Hi.
If you are having problems with logging on by getting stuck on the bulkdata you can download the necessary files from here: http://content.eveonline.com/bulkdata/234.zip
Simply extract them into your Bulkdata folder located in the EVE installation folder (default location C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bulkdata) overwriting any files and then launch the client and you should have no problems connecting.

What did you guys change in todays downtime :( I have the same problem as last week. Last time I logged was this morning and everything was fine. Now I am stuck on 20/41 again and after 5 minutes client closes and restarts (just like last time).
Could you post the latest version of the bulkdata for today please.
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
There was changes done to the bulkdata during todays downtime, so here's new instructions:
If you are having problems with logging on by getting stuck on the bulkdata, please run the repair.exe that is located in the EVE installation folder and then clear the bulkdata folder as instructed below:
For this, you need to locate the following folder, assuming that you have installed EVE in the default location C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE : ( is C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE on 64bit versions of Windows )
Press Windows Key R and paste the following line into the Run window.
Windows XP: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility\cache\MachoNet\87.237.38.200 Windows XP Steam: %USERPROFILE%\Local SettingsLocal Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_steam_steamapps_common_eve_online_tranquility\cache\MachoNet\87.237.38.200 Windows Vista: %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility\cache\MachoNet\87.237.38.200 Windows Vista Steam: %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_steam_steamapps_common_eve_online_tranquility\cache\MachoNet\87.237.38.200 Windows Vista 64bit: %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_(x86)_ccp_eve_tranquility\cache\MachoNet\87.237.38.200 Windows Vista 64bit Steam: %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_(x86)_steam_steamapps_common_eve_online_tranquility\cache\MachoNet\87.237.38.200 Windows 7: %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility\cache\MachoNet\87.237.38.200 Windows 7 Steam: %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_steam_steamapps_common_eve_online_tranquility\cache\MachoNet\87.237.38.200 Windows 7 64bit: %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_(x86)_ccp_eve_tranquility\cache\MachoNet\87.237.38.200 Windows 7 64bit Steam: %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_(x86)_steam_steamapps_common_eve_online_tranquility\cache\MachoNet\87.237.38.200
In this folder you need to delete the 234 folder.
After you've done this you should be able to login normally.

That fix does not work; the "234" folder keeps getting re-created every time you launch eve, still gets stuck on acquiring bulk data.

Originally by: N2IHC That fix does not work; the "234" folder keeps getting re-created every time you launch eve, still gets stuck on acquiring bulk data.
Did you first run the repair.exe that is located in the EVE Installation folder? Did the repair.exe file replace any files, specifically in the C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bulkdata folder? If not, try and rename the Bulkdata folder to Bulkdata2 for example so the repair.exe will download all the Bulkdata files again.
Once the repair.exe has been run then run then clear the 234 folder located in the cache folder. The 234 folder will be recreated every time, and that's normal.

Yes, it replaced some files in the bulkdata folder. After this, I then deleted the "234" folder, and relaunched EVE, and it still gets stuck, although interestingly it now gets stuck at Acquiring Bulk Data 6/41, instead of 20/41.
I'll try renaming the bulkdata folder and having the repair tool replace them all, and then delete 234.

Hmmm. Renaming the bulkdata folder to "bulkdata2" and then running the repair file seems to have worked, I managed to succesfully login.
Thanks so much for your help :)
