For missioning are faction drones any good? I can use T2 but I have seen some t2 faction ones and was wondering if they were a big upgrade. I noticed the faction sentrys have better tracking then the T2 versions but less dmg. Any feed back?

More for PvP IMO. Tracking and hitpoints should be less of an issue in PvE and those are the main advantages for the faction Drones.
For PvE all you want is damage. ___________________

Edited by: Master Zeuth on 09/01/2010 22:12:37 Looking at the differences between Sentry Drones...
Garde II / Fed. Navy Garde Fed Garde has +100% Health, -20% Optimal/Falloff, +5% Tracking and -10% damage.
Looking at Lights, Mediums, and Heavy Drones...
Ogre II / Fed. Navy Ogre Fed Ogre has +100% Health, 83% of the speed, +10% Tracking and -5% damage. Same with Hammerheads and Hobgoblins.
The augmented varieties are faster, split damage, and have mid-range health between Navy and T2. As said above, they are more PvP focused. So T2 will probably outperform them.

Faction mods are popular in PvE because you never lose them. This simply doesn't apply to drones.
As a result, advantages/disadvantages aside, faction drones just aren't a good idea in the long run. T2s do just fine.

Depends on what you are doing. I use faction sentries in situations where the tracking bonus is more important than the damage loss. They can also be useful if you are tanking your drones. Prime example of that is in pvp when fighting under station/gate gun fire. Faction sentries are far more survivable than their t2 counterparts thanks to double HP. The tracking bonus on them is also very useful as pvp is typically done at closer range than you would normally want to use sentry drones at. But those are special purposes, as a rule, t2 is better simply because they do more damage. -----------------------------------------------------

For pve:
- fit fed navy omnidirectional(s) - use t2 drones
The bonus you get from the faction omni's is great, the drawback you get from faction/named/augmented whatever drones just doesn't compare to t2 drones.
All the above is prolly crap Drone Guide
