I imagine that while being in the capsule the body is mantained by various fluids and such, like the matrix, but what is exactly all this fluid? and where does all go once it made its life cycle?

It doesn't "go" anywhere. The fluid itself is a mix of a liquid cushion/suspension that in form is like a thick, fluid custard. In it are suspended nutrients and oxygen. The fluid is circulated within the pod; when the fluid reaches the "end" of it's circulatory path, it is filtered, re-oxygenated, and has the trace elements necessary for survival re-added to it, in the form of proteins and simple amino acids. The fluid then begins the cycle again. The nutrient tanks and oxygenator equipment is integral to the pod; when docked to a ship they are supplemented by reserves within the ship's "pod cradle" - the onboard stores are for emergency use when the pod is outside the ship proper. Cleaning/replacing the filters is done each time the ship or pod docks.
/RP mode OFF
What difference does any of this make in-game? None, really - it's treated as a "black box" that we really don't want to think about - or need to, for that matter. Just be glad that nothing EVAR malfunctions in-game :)

Arkeladin, is there a source to that?
I always thought that the digestive system is inactive as long as pilots are inside the capsule. Some story (of course I can't find it yet) about the long-limb roe talks about capsuleers who eat it after not having eaten for a long time. |

it goes into the recycling system, converted back to water, and other usable nutrient, the rest is filtered out and sent to the power core as fuel.

I eat a healthy diet high in complex carbohydrates and at least six pieces of fruit a day. When I want some meat the first mate is more that willing to let me chew on his beef sausage.
And then I head to my capsule, cause there is nothing better than doing a jobbie in capsule gloop.

*scratching chin*
The fluid the capsuleer is surrounded by in the capsule is other capsuleers tears, gathered from them when podded. These tears are ideal nourishment.

[ edit ]Ah - I knew my memory wasn't THAT bad. It's the chronicle about the long-limb after all! But for some reason the text was changed.
Old version New version
Part I mentioned:
Quote:
Many ship captains are also fond of the exotic food found there; they love to treat their digestion system to something special after weeks of disuse while in-flight.
The important question now is wether or not the old text ist still canon...
This would make sense, as if the digestive system is not active while in the pod, people wouldn't have to sit in a vat of their own filth for weeks on end. ---------- There is always a choice. The choice might not be easy, nor simple, nor the options be what you desire - but, nevertheless, the choice is there to be made. |

Seems as if I can now answer my own question. CCP retconned that story, apparently pilots have to get out of the pod every day or so. ? http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1069891&page=1#3

Fixed an error in Chronicle ôThe Hanging Long-Limbö where it was implied that capsuleers routinely spend weeks or months at a time in the capsule without emerging.
Can't say I like the change. Doesn't make sense, IMO. How does a pilot get out of the pod when in space? |

Nothing, We're actually jacked up Drone AI's that have been programed to think we were human to keep us under control. Incarna is taking so long because they are having technical issues designing bodies that can actually house our AI's and maintain the illusion of hunanity.
