I'm a miner, but I love the idea of hulkageddon, I think it's not ruining the game... at all. In fact, it's actualy not bad for eve's economy at all. Good luck to both the gankers and the miners!

A little natural selection never hurt anyone. Well, except for those selected for removal ---------- There is always a choice. The choice might not be easy, nor simple, nor the options be what you desire - but, nevertheless, the choice is there to be made. |

An AFK miner, carebare here.
Yes, insurance should not be paid to those killed by CONCORD. Even if that was true though, it would not effect the Hulkageddon game.
OP, try to ignore the morally depraved EVE players that flock to this thread like flies to horse manure...this contest is a good thing. There is NOTHING like this in any other game out there.
In addition, it brings players to the forums.
EVE is a dangerous and exciting place because the CCP has created the greatest enemy AI in any MMORPG - the human ********.

Obvious troll is obvious. I'd say try hard, but either other trolls dropped in to help or people really are that dumb. I'm going with the former, and the latter. --- "I just do what I am told. DONT MINE FKING AFK!
Its people like that, that give us miners a bad name.
Watch you scanner, talk to your guards, align align align and keep an eye on your overview.
In return for having no tank and no guns you can do something no other ship in the game can do, which is make entire belts go poof, but in return for this great power comes the responsibility of keeping your freaking ship alive.
AFK miners, macro miners, etc are what give miners a bad name, if there were less of us and we paid attention we would get more loves from ccp instead of getting screwed over all the time because CCP does not want to give benifits to people who barely play the game.

Frac you. This is the only reason I play the game. Otherwise, I wouldn't play it all. I'm in graduate school and need something that I only have to look at every 5-10 minutes while I write papers. This is the only game that not only allows that, but encourages it.
Then, when I have a break - I can enjoy the other fun stuff that EVE offers.
Mining is so ungodly boring. I'm not sure how anyone could NOT mine AFK.
Ruining it for other miners? Give me a break. This is EVE. If you don't like the danger that AFK miners brings to the game, then go play WoW...hey, how are my trolling skills coming along?
I support this contest.

I'm primarily a mining carebear, and at first the idea of Hulkageddon was a little annoying...but it's turned out to be a lot of fun watching all the killmails, and all the people thinking they can outlast Hulk Death Squads heh.
And some of the Youtube kills are good to watch.
I'm staying out of Hulkageddon by not making myself a target...my mining boats are docked up for the week. Some of you other miners might want to do the same, heck, the organiser's even said I think if you don't want to lose your boats, don't undock them.

Edited by: Windjammer on 08/01/2010 04:18:45 Simple solution in two parts:
1) Eliminate insurance. Period. For everyone.
2) Make it so that a negative sec standing gets you insta popped if you stray into a high sec that you shouldn't be in. And I mean POD's TOO!!!
This would not entirely solve the problem, but at least the gankers would be suffering as much as the miners and others.

P.S. *sigh* And of course.............a nice troll from the OP.

Explain how ganking is a "problem".
Also, there's no need for them to be instapopped if they go into highsec (they already are if they go into the Sanctum constellation). Given that some pirate corps operate in small pockets of lowsec, they would be permanently restricted from ending their careers as pirates if they couldn't try to enter highsec.
However, it's logical to remove insurance when CONCORDed. Removing insurance entirely is something to think about for bigger ships since insurance subsidizes blobbing in big, insurable ships (as opposed to fighting in small ships) because tech 1's have high insurance payout.

I suggest to cancel all lowsecs in next patch, and to change EVE name to Bob the Builder. Also outlaws shouldn't be able to jump via gates (coz they are outlaws, you know) and CCP should add instalocking warp scrambling battery on each gate.

Pfft. It's helping my wallet out...
Fewer AFK/macro miners means less competition for me... Less minerals on the market means better prices for mine... And lots of ships to replace means lots of demand for my minerals...
