I have had a petition open for a week now with no response.
I have also been refreshing the petition daily with an added comment.
What the hell is up with the lack of GM help lately?

Christmas possibly. I have just been back to work for two days myself after 2 weeks hiatus.

I'd assume the GMs are human beings too. (c/d?????)
In which case I think they're entitled to take a break over the holidays.

Made a petition last night, got a response this morning.
Also "I have also been refreshing the petition daily with an added comment", every time you change or add your petition it gets put back to the end of the queue. So instead of pointing fingers at others telling us about how fail the GM's are, it is infact YOU who fail.

I guess nothing. This seems to be an issue with your perception in conjunction with a good portion of impatience.

This is not correct. When a GM has responded to your petition, the petition is in an active state. You don't have to be concerned about being put back into the end of the line whenever you respond to your petition.
You can even update your petition before we respond and your place will not be lost or reset in the queue.

EVE has a long history of slacky and slow customer service, although it improved and became more professional in the last two years.
I can confirm that most of my petitions have been handled OK, at least if you ask for a senior GM escalation Also the number of bugs decreased so I do not need to petition so much anymore.
You will get an answer soon(tm), longest time I ever had to wait (for an reimbursement petition) was one month, although it was around a real buggy patch where nothing worked anymore.

You tend to get a reply after about 1.5 weeks, after which you usually need to make another comment because the GM simply doesnt read your petition properly.
You will either give up or get the petition resolved approximately 3 weeks after initial petition.
Also, the truth, contrary to what we are advised, making the petition as detailed as possible does not help at all. The simpler you can make the petition the easier it is for the GM to respond. If you make it too complicated they will pick out and reply to a single sentence which does not help you at all.
I banged my head against the wall of a petition for nearly 2 months before I finally gave up. all the GM's who responded simply couldn't understand.

The support department sure seems pretty small and inadequate for a large game like EVE. Unfortunately its been like this for quite a while so doesn't appear like CCP see it is a problem.

While we were being harassed in the hulkageddon channel by a mean miner GM Horse came to fix the situation as petitioned within 30 seconds.
I guess they just don't like you

Let me try and understand this. A company with over 300k customers that's open 23/7 and they send all of their customer service people away on a two week vacation all at the same time?
I don't believe any business would be that stupid.

Yes, or at least mostly, and no.
The GM department is active 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for the entire year. Although over the holidays there are considerably fewer of us on shift. We are currently in the process of crunching as hard as we can to get our response times back to pre-Dominion levels. -------------------------------- Senior GM Spiral EVE Online Customer Support Team |

I highly suggest you roll back dominion at this rate
