Not sure if it's been pointed out yet (cba to re-read the thread), but atm the Nyx has 250k m3 drone bay, but a set of 20 fighters and 20 fighter bombers will total 250k m3 which leaves no space for other drones or spares. I imagine the other MS have smaller drone bays, so they won't even be able to have 1 of each set. Will this be changed or is it intentional to make you only pack 1 type of fighter (conventional or fighter bomber)?

you may see a few scorps with armor tank and full ecm in mid :) gg

I would still wait for tranq patch to get the final stats. I guess citadel cruises flight time will be reduced hopefully not. If not phoenix will be good against towers/dreads but very weak against anything else. I have a scorp with armor tank + ecm :) not that is good but only viable caldari ship in rr gangs.
We will see.

I would think to stay in the minmatar tradition...the Hel should get a bonus to local repair amount instead of remote rep amount. |

For god sake ccp, can you just admit that they guys *****ing in the titan thread about how exploitable they would be after the patch were right and fix them.
There has been 1 legit titan kill due to stupidity. It's been nearly 2 months and 1 titan kill. Meanwhile, titan numbers continue to escalate.
Remove the direct damage DD and sort the damn ship out or make it sit idle.

That's not that hard. Minnie weapons operate in fall off and range bonused ships get bonuses to projectile falloff.
Minnie racial ECM is target painting.
Therefore the most ideal bonus for the Hel is obviously a bonus to TP falloff.

According to EFT (uhoh), cit torp raw DPS is being decreased by 31%. In exchange, the explosion radius is being decreased from 2250 m to 2000 m, and the sig radii of pos mods, towers and Dreads are being substantially increased. So torps change from being a very high damage weapon that finds it hard to apply that damage, to a lower damage weapon that finds it much easier to apply that damage.
As for numbers, the current triple-BCS skills-at-V Phoenix does 9113 kinetic torp DPS to 37.1 km. The proposed Phoenix will do, ermm.... 6969 kinetic torp DPS to, erm, a slightly longer range. I don't have the capital experience to properly interpret these EFT numbers, so over to someone else.

While not being a Phoenix pilot myself, nor actually plugging in the numbers to the missile dmg formula (so the following isn't very well substantiated), it seems to me that Phoenix is losing its main advantage, that of superior dps to large pos's, without gaining enough elsewhere to stand on equal footing with the other dreads vs smaller targets.
So other then POS signature increase, is it really a boost? I'm currently trying to decide between the dreads, and I have to say Phoenix actually became less interesting to me with the proposed changes, as I understand them.
But like I said, I could have it all wrong.

Right but are we talking POS smashing or vs other caps? As long as the Phoenix can stay competitive on both fronts sure but I think the Phoenix is gonna suffer in cap fights from this or will it? I'm thinking that with the issues missiles have at applying their damage these days the Phoenix is not going to look so hot anymore..

no this is still just raw numbers. citadels are getting a damage buff, but RoF and flight will still be slow. He's saying it kinda evens out, but that's not taking into account that half the time the target will be destroyed before our missiles hit? I think?

1) he said with lvl V and with full dmg mods 2) he also didn't take into account nobody will run a rack of only range mods just to hit a large POS
base torp range should have been increased IMO to account for this. It's not like a rev where you can sacrifice some DPS to get some range... you have to fully refit to cruise.
I'm ok with the current buff... just needed a little bit more range to be happy, and allow the delayed damage be the downfall from it being a superwtfpwnship.

naglfail is still underpowered.
7.5% per level bonuses please. Torps are just plain impractical for naglfars, the bumping and range factor on capitals means ive not yet been able to hit a single large tower with my torps since the release. |

Of course everything is circumstantial. These numbers are raw damage against non-moving targets. To give a better answer, let's assume you're shooting a Carrier moving at 75 m/sec with the same transversal velocity as well:
While it's true that the Phoenix will only be doing roughly 44% of its peak damage, it still does that damage at all ranges. A pulse-Rev will do 84% of its peak damage around 24k and then starts to drop fast unless you are quick with the crystal changes.
The Phoenix is also still doing about 5k more burst damage per volley so, assuming the guy you are shooting at has 1,000,000 EHP and forgets to turn his repper on, you'll kill him in 32 volleys in the Phoenix up to 59km away versus 39 volleys in the pulse-Rev at a has to stay perfect 24km.
