Hey all!
I am a relatively new player, and am working my way up the ship ranks. One of the future ships that i cant wait to get into is the Caldari Rokh. Ive been doing a lot of research, and have come to the conclusion that the Rokh is a pretty versitile craft, able to be fitted for both a short range tank and a longe range sniper.
So, i just wanted to ask some of the more experianced players what uses and fittings they have found to be effective in real combat, both mishing and PvP. All are welcome to add some of their knowledgeable incite.
Thanks you guys

I never ran a mission past the tutorial so I have no clue about that.
But for pvp, you are right about the Rokh, it does very well at either sniping or close range blaster platform. The nice thing about that ship is that with the range bonus, you can hit relatively far with blasters and antimatter and even further with Null, almost matching pulse lasers. Also, being a shield tanker, you can fit 3 magnetic field stabilizers in the low slots to compensate for the lack of a damage bonus like most battleships have.
Great ship, except for close range battleship blobs, because those are almost always armor tanked and use remote repairs to keep each others alive. And the rokh just can't do that.
Most Caldari pilots that use guns (like the Rokh, Eagle, Moa, Harpy, etc..) cross-trained for a Megathron and most caldari pilots that use missiles cross-trained for a Typhoon for those RR battleship gangs.

Sweet. that sounds good.
Now, since i am new, im still catching up on all the Eve jargon. So for any posts that are made after this, could the reader explain the definition for commonly used terms?
For example: what is a blob, RR, ECT.
Thanks you guys, and sorry for the inconveniance...

Rokh can hit at 200km without range modules.

Rokh can also be fit "out of the box" with 4 Siege Launchers (Torpedos) and 4 Neuts (or 3 Neuts / 1 Nos). Does some damage and is an evul thing to anything what needs Cap (= almost everything) ^^

Thanks for the Welcome! Im really enjoying this game, and can see myself playing it for quite some time. The community is warm and friendly, the ships are totally awesome, and the customization is unparalelled in any other MMO. Oh yes, I love Eve!

Now thats one of the things that i am going to be looking forward to doing! I am currently flying a Caldari Ferox, and from the ship bonuses, it looks to be the lil brother of the Rokh. Im trying to specialize in long range turret warfare, and so i think the Rokh will be a great fit for me.
But it is nice to have the flexibility to slap on a close range fitting set in order to have that option in battle...
All in all, soooooo many choices! I welcome any posts from members that actually have a Rokh, describing what they use and how well it works for them in all types of settings.

I recommend checking out the "My EVE" section of the forums, and looking for Rokh videos.

Sounds good.
Another question...
Has anyone thought to fit a cloaking device onto a sniper vessel? I was figuring that would be a good plan of attack, since if someone gets too close, you could cloak, warp out, and then warp back in outta range to continue the assault.
What are some of yall's thoughts on this strategy?

Cloaking makes your sig resolution really poor (you can't lock quickly). Also, when you are sniping you tend to have a huge blob of people shooting you - and you can't cloak when locked. Its a nice thought, but not really feasible. Sorry. :)

i love the 4 nuets 4 siege launcher setups. they are awesome for close range gangs. if you have skills in missile launcher operations its well worth looking into.
