I submitted a petition about a banned account. I just received an email saying "One of your petitions has recently been closed and we would greatly appreciate your input on how well it was handled so we can continue to improve our services." etc.
The email prompts me to log in to the banned account in order to view the petition and respond. What am I supposed to do? I'd rather not submit a new petition and wait a week-plus for a response.

You are supposed to do exactly what it said.
If you are unhappy with the resolution and you THINK you might have a point, reopen it (the petition), you don't need to file a new one. But you should really think twice about it before reopening it - are you absolutely sure the ban was not justified ?
Past experience indicates that most cases like this one are either an "accidental" breach of EULA (not knowing the law does not excuse you from breaking it) or a clear-cut case of PEBKAC (most of the time, actually a combination of these two).

I can't log in to the banned account because it isn't an active EVE account. I hadn't played in 4 years and tried to resubscribe when I found out that the account was banned. I never received notice while I was playing 4 years ago that I'd committed any kind of offense, and EVE sent me a resubscribe offer just this past June, so I wasn't even banned then.
The account I'm posting with now is an industrial alt I resubbed to start up again. It doesn't have access to the other account's petitions.

Log into the WEBSITE with the banned account. Then do what Gieron says.

If by chance, did you used to be in a corp that ran reactions on moon-goo for advanced materials? Did you guys do this in a less than virtuous manner? If so, then sorry, you're banned. If not, then give the above advice a shot.

Edited by: Pwneth on 16/12/2009 18:24:07 Edited by: Pwneth on 16/12/2009 18:22:19 Says my account/password info is incorrect. It's likely my account was stolen, which would explain why I can't log in with any of my passwords, so I have no idea what to do. Sorry to junk up the forums with this. I'm hoping a mod or GM can email me the contents of the petition response so I can help with the investigation.
Billy: I did not exploit or commit any bannable offense while playing EVE. Bear in mind this was 4 years ago. I didn't do any production. I didn't do anything except mine and get blown up at gatecamps. I was more than stunned when I saw the account was banned a few days ago and I'm really eager to find out what happened.
If a GM/mod can email me at the address attached to this account I will provide the other account's name. I don't want to post it here on the forums for obvious reasons.

try doing a password reset - if you don't get the password sent to you, it's probably gone to a different email which would support the idea that your account was hacked.

Already tried. I get the message "Error: account is banned". I've really tried everything I can to view the petition without success.

Yeah, I'm hitting the 'My Petitions' button and trying to log in there. This is epic fail, I wish they would just send petition responses to the email attached to the account.

Firstly you say you're unable to login to the account but how did you petition the ban in the first instance, if you used a different account login to that one instead, if thats not the right account then drop them an email at [email protected] citing your username and email address and as much info as you can about the account so they are satisfied you are who you are, then wait :) Rally Against Evil Site |

What browser are you using ? Apple and Safari are generally as well working as a bad accident... Since we had firefox installed on this apple-workstation the eve-o site works better. Greetings Belmarduk
