Originally by: Sara Zaristos It looks good, but to ensure the security of my system, I'd like to know some things. What license does it have? When installing it states it is protected under copyright law etc..., but there is no license agreement. Also, are sources available, or is there a thrustworthy third-party available (CCP?) that ensures that it does not tamper with my system or steal login details?
EVE Mentat is a kind of proprietary software. There is no license text (sorry, but I had no time to write it), but it will be written soon. In a few words: proprietary; with no sources opened; all rights belong to author; this software is free to use.
I guarantee security of this application. It doesn't use any malicious technologies. Nevertheless, you can use third-party online malware checkers to test it. For instance, http://www.virustotal.com/.
Important note: Download EVE Mentat only from the official web-site (link in first post) to avoid security risks! ----------------------------------------- EVE Mentat - true trade tool. |

Currently all works on EVE Mentat 1.0.x except for critical bug fixing are stopped.
IÆm working on serious changes of applicationÆs internal structure. It will improve overall performance (start-up time, memory usage) and will allow storing a lot of useful information (trade logs, statistics and other) without any restrictions.

In EVE Online client open Market window. Search items of your interest. Display its market data. Press "Export" button in this window for each item. Then import it into Mentat.
Note: If you wish to see prices, for instance, of Cap Reacharger II from different regions, you should manually export market data in each region. Can be done by alternative characters.
The solution would be to choose the folder of reference ?

Great software Thart. If I could just make a small request for an addition to your software. If there was an option under the 'Market' tab where you could right click on an order, and delete it, I and others might find it helpful. I use your software for filling buy orders, and I'm not always in the region to refresh my log data right away. That way I won't accidentally go over the same buy orders twice.
Thanks again!

Edited by: Zenobia Jules on 16/05/2010 11:15:13 This Tool is really gr8 and my choice of weapon for the market out there =) Though a manual would have been great. There are some things I either couldnt figure out or aren't implemented yet:
- After I installed it and imported everything i noticed only my orders / transaction from the last 7 Days are displayed. I remember this as an eve related "problem" ?
- I realized that, when i import the market of an item (Market Tab), and the orders, the tool will show me if someone sets his price lower than mine. For how long will the tool keep updating this and when will i have to reimport it?
- I exported all my market orders and the corporate market orders and imported it in the tool, now i got the problem, that all the corporate orders are shown twice. Is there a way to delete them? I guess I should have only exported MY orders since the programm realizes what is corporation and what my own.
- Self Cost is a valuable and tricky thing. My corporation produces all the stuff and sells it on the market, though we have no miners, which means we buy all the minerals. Again, this means that our self cost prices change all the time, and since we are a clever bunch of guys, we arrange for a nice excel sheet where our item prices are always kept up to date. Would it be possible to link Mentat to this excel sheet, maybe in the very same way that you would link several excel sheets together? That would be super awesome.
- One last thing: Is it possible to get an average sell price from my orders? fex: I check my all-time defence field rigs and the tool tells me what my average sell price is. Since it's quite an easy task but annoying to do manually I guess Mentat can do it, I just didnt figure out how yet.
cheers Zenobia Jules

EVE API limits transaction history. But EVE Mentat will store all your transactions beginning from the first import.

EVE API caches data for 1 hour but you are free to use manual export/import to update data in a minute.

I will implement data export\import in CSV format. I think this will help you.

CCP have changed file format slightly on patch. I've fixed Mentat in recent release.
You just need to cleanup your market log folder - %My Documents%\EVE\logs\Marketlogs
I have a Windows 7 system, and there is no variable %My Documents% available. As such, I cannot import market data.
(I am using the newest stable version with Win 7 Pro (64bit)

I have such OS too and have no problems. Just a few ideas for you:
1. Find manually and delete "EVE\logs\marketlogs" folder in Documents folder. 2. Try to launch EVE Mentat in compatibility mode (for instance in XP mode). ----------------------------------------- EVE Mentat - true trade tool. |

I was just thinking, why not have the program get the market data from the eve cache? Programs such as the eve metrics uploader actively monitor the cache and it allows them to extract the market logs as soon as a market window is viewed, such a feature would make monitoring orders way faster
