So do I understand it correctly that CCP still didn't fix the despawning of completed sites even after todays patch?
Kind of sucks if the core money-making mechanic is broken even after the "fix" for it was installed.... it's not like anoms are not already ******edly bad compared to Motsu... they're even out-right broken.
Good job CCP.

They were working fine before the 4th of december, so whatever they did or changed then seems to have borked it.
Wasted a crap load of isk fitting ships etc for plexs and im able to run 1 per day IF im lucky and can get to them first!

Well bug reports are being pilled onto an existing issue. So they have recognised it as a fault. We have dev comment that this is a high priority elsewhere in a thread.
CCP can we have a confirmation if todays fix was meant to help with this respawn issue? Might save some "it didn't fix it" comments if you tell us if it was meant to help, or it was un related (I cant find a clear answer to this)
Also how can we help?
I will be updating my bug report for my system with times and CA names that don't respawn to try and give you log data. Or does this not help?

Edited by: Killljoy on 08/12/2009 17:22:14 mine are broken as well. They respawned once. But now the cycle is stuck. Also the ones that did have all of the LCO objects despawn still show up in the scans. Oh and they all suxed, killed maybe 9 BSs in 8 anomalies. This is unexceptible.

Alas we have the same problem in Tribute. As of now (09:28 Thurs 10 Dec) I found over 20 Anomalies in a single system and they are all empty.

confirmed ca despawn / respawn not working.
as one of the main feature to upgrade systesm from dominion with a part of the new sov system, all payments for space should set to 0 and sov not attackable.
ccp you want to bring more pilots in 0.0 and focus on smaller pvp. but now we see greater blops than ever before and ppls have run to empire to make isks for the big blop fights.
all in all atm you reached 100% of that what you want but in the opposite direction.
dominion = more and bigger blops / less peoples in 0.0

Noticing similar issues in Vale again today. CAs are not despawning and respawning again properly.
The patch from a few days ago seemed to "fix" this issue, but apparently not so much. Thanks CCP.

i think ccp disabled the despwan / respawn beacude it is affecting the server too much. and produce lag and destablise the database.

Welp, here's to CCP refunding the cost of the now Pirate Detection arrays to the folks who wasted what most be a total of several trillion isk for a feature that is utterly useless unless you play right after down time.
It really would be cool if CCP told us what is going on as in a) Yea we are all over it b) We are about to bring up sisi for testing or c) we have no clue and the corps that bought the arrays are getting refunds.
Pretty incredible that this feature got all the way through Q&A, Sisi and live whilst totally bugged.

Not entirely. My first guess (and apparently others' guesses as well) is a race condition, which is one of those bugs that's generally tricky to test for (unless explicitly tested for; in other words, you have to be expecting it).
Heck, it could be something like a naive garbage collection algorithm with a low priority: "If we can find idle CPU time, despawn anomalies." With only a few dozen testers, a situation like this is likely to work as intended: The cluster's CPU will likely be idle more frequently with less players. However, once going live, it's possible the CPU simply isn't idle (or isn't idle long enough).
Not saying I have any idea what the actual problem is, but I certainly know it's possible for bugs like this to pop up, especially as you increase complexity, and almost certainly as you increase concurrency (threads running simultaneously).
Trust me, I want this fixed as much as anyone else. My home is nullsec, and this is a huge part of my livelihood in EVE. However, without being able to see the guts of how the system works, I can only vaguely speculate on what may be causing this bug and trust that CCP, as a company, does not want to pay incompetent or idle programmers or QA.

We're having the same problem. This is Mega-fail. How can a bug so hugely obvious and which undermines the entire purpose of the last expansion go unresolved without being addressed. Not good

Many people, including me, make literally all of their money off exploration and what dominion has created is a situation even worse than where it was before. Plex's dont respawn! The lack of this is a crippling blow to people relying on them for income. At any one time I'll find up to 25 anomalys in a upgraded system but every single one of them will be empty.
CCP you need to fix this. The least you can do is tell us that your working on it. We havent even seen that.

I wrote a petition about this several days ago and i was told that CCP is aware of this problem and is trying to fix it. Additionaly I heard some rumors that they are still searching the exact reason for this, as it does not seem to follow a undestandable logic as some CA's respawn and some don't. So let's be patient and supply CCP with more detailed information than "CA's in system ***** do not respawn/despawn".

Id have to agree. This new upgrade system is so fail that its pathetic. I quit playing for 4 days cuz i cant get a decent anomoly eve. Sure there are 15 anomolies in a systme but if the spawn anythign or are done and dont despawn is the thing. And ieven if they dont the quality of anomolies with upgrades in place is pure dookie. I mean beofer I could get at least 3 havens or a sanctum or 2 wiht ease. NOW upgraded ystems i havent seen 1 of these. Ill admit i hae only worked in 2 - 3 upgraded systes with low - lv 2 to 3 upgrades. Still if it makes the non upgrade stuff look better what the use to upgrade then. I mae more isk in 1 non upgradeds system of anomolies then i can in 4 upgraded ones. FAIL!

What is the default time that an anomoly takes to despawn after it is completed and you vacate, pre dominion? Is half this problem just being caused because there are now 40+ people in any upgraded system, 10 of whom are trying to run the sites, or sat in them shooting pointless structures in the hope that something happens, basically doing what an afk cloaky pilot would do if he was sat in the site, ie hold it open indefinately?
Maybe CCP should set the despawn timer to immediately despawn the site when it becomes empty, rather than having a grace period which would allow someone to return to the site to finish looting it? Its unlikely to be a fix, but i would be happy to clutch at straws right now lol

Well hello there :) We believe we have a solid reason why the respawn breaks in many cases. If we are right then we'll have a patch soon.
This has been a high priority for our team - we do not like seeing our work broken. The trouble has been finding out exactly WHY the respawn is broken, as we hadn't touched the respawning mechanic in Dominion.
