As a contract specialist for corps looking to retaliate or simply to inflict harm... I deal with the isk aspect of gaining corps to take on contracts for clients who wish to remain annonymous - or to leave a calling card at the end of a successful contract... You, as an industrialist - R&D... etc, want a secure setup? This is how... 1. High Sec POS location. 2. LARGE TOWER 3. HARDENERS 4. Stasis Web 5. Med Blasters 6. Place mods at 3 to 4 points around your POS. That is it. Why? WAY TOO MUCH DAMN ISKS to hire a corp to waste their PEW PEW for hours on end. Your industrial enemy will not waste the mass amount of isks to have a corp / alliance take on this task... Plain and simple. You could have absolutely NO pvp desire and still, your corp will stay safe. Why? - pew, pew is the call of the day and VERY difficult to promote sitting at a POS plinking for hours in max sized ships being battleships... Stay as safe as possible.. Invest in a LARGE TOWER, PLACE HER IN HIGH SEC - ADD HARDENERS - MAKE IT AS BORNG AS POSSIBLE for the pew pew players!
The supply and demand of this operation is out of touch with each other especially since the suppliers find NO fun plinking at a boring POSą They need 30 + BSĘs (Yes, that is 30 active players for hours (3+minimal!) in one corp / allianceą Unless the PAY is ludicrous and worth laughing about for the hours it takes to take the pos down. That is really the ONLY incentive for mercs, pvp corps to take on such a task.
Want to solidify it further? DO NOT send pvp action after themą The longer this aspect stays boring to pvp ū the more secure the industrialist, as a collective whole, will increase. Make it as boring and as long of a process as possible. Once they get an incentive that pvp may be part of the POSą The price goes DOWN!!! After all that is FUN! That gets the numbers up for those to participateą
Does this make it 100% safe? No... though from a contract specialistĘs point of view - My ability to contract such actions has extended my ability to confidently charge the client to have this done... Why do I bring this up? I guarantee a contract will be fulfilled when I take on such for a client - I am paying out the wazoo simply to keep credibility of my position for future client contracts. TBH, I do not think I will take on another large POS high security contract againą This further secures your operation as an industrialist.
Cheers all ū What will grab attention? What is cost effective for the pew pew factor? Small and medium POSĘsą These can pop with ease ū large howeverą too boring for pvpĘers ū Unless the price is right ū and that price is not right to those interested in seeing a large pos disappear.

Really? Because I have a Large tower with hardeners, stasis web and med blasters that I want taken down.
I get how the hardeners making it boring but could you talk more about the purpose of webs and med blaster?
If I understand correctly Med turrets on POSes are for hitting BSes but I don't get why webs?
Also is it any better using stealth bombers as opposed to BSes and speed tanking the med guns?

You forgot to include the jammers in your setup.

Edited by: Covertops Handler on 03/12/2009 22:34:27 This is more a general comment on how to critically hinder desire to attack a competitors POS. I agree there are MANY forms of mods that can enhance such difficulties - to include Jammers - ESPECIALLY for Caldari with ECM bonuses...
However to generalize a good standard - this is basic ~ and even at basic - it brings the vast difficulties of large pos assaults in high security.
Mr. Selek, Along with some weapons that will take on frigates, etc - The web will hold back frigates from conducting quick orbiting runs to deplete ammo storage. As well as pos gunners able to focus on BS's taking damage from warping out... This also helps as sniper type setups that get out of range will have less dps and when it comes to multi hour plinking - this loss of dps can add further unwanted time... It encourages more headaches in a sense. Ya, right now I havelost a chunk hiolding up to a guarantee and I fear I may lose even more before I get a reputable corp to take this certain pos out. Cheers hope this helps

Very informative perspective Covertops H. Am about to get on the POS bandwagon, you've fine tuned a couple of decisions I was pondering.
