I ran into a post today that called for Grid Fu. I realized that not many people really know what it is. You can change the size of grids and do all sorts of cool things.
So here's a link: Grid Fu Manual |

Nope. Though putting out cans to stretch the effective range of POS guns IS considered an exploit.

Edited by: Dr BattleSmith on 02/12/2009 23:46:26 Grid manipulation has been classed as an exploit I believe.
It's interesting to know how it works, but don't be messing with grids on people.

Well, it's old, but nobody's said anything about it for a while, and anyway the part about how grids work in general (not about using it for pos warfare, that's called an exploit) is useful for newer people, especially since a lot fo older ones aren't exactly clear on either.

Edited by: willdieinabout24hrs on 03/12/2009 14:45:48 If you think this is an exploit, please prove it with a link to some sort of statement/thread.
I did what I think is a fairly exhaustive search. I could find exactly one specific mention of a particular grid manipulation tactic that is classified as an exploit: shrinking the grid to hide the POS/make POS guns more effective (my original statement was worded poorly). Thats it. Again, doesn't appear to be an exploit. So, if you're SURE that it is, please show us the link.

This was posted months ago and nobody from CCP said it was an exploit.(apart from pos stuff) Knowing how grids work is not an exploit.

Possibly because its **** easy to counter, unless you dont know what you're doing. and has limited use outside of POS warfare, where it's still not going to do much more than let your sniper battleship fleet kill the POS without losing anything unless they get warped in on, or hotdropped. Wait, thats new or impressive? Because I can. |

Who said it was? Its information. Knowledge is power etc. If you don't like it, don't use it. Perhaps you would be so kind as to share the counter strategies with us? I'm sure your wisdom is priceless. |

Last time some guys did this to us it had a very marginal effect on the battle. The enemies stuck on our grid got wasted while a couple tacklers that accidentally crossed the grid got exploded, then the whole blob crossed the grid and exploded the enemy.
I won't deny that it is useful, but by itself it won't do a whole lot.

It isn't from CCP, but someone was given according to this thread CCP sent warnings and even banned a player for using grid manipulation.

that thread makes mention of something someone feels is an exploit. there is no ccp contribution, no mention of a ban, or warnings. not to mention its from 2003. |
