http://www.mordorbbs.com/evesaver/ After having a hunt around for Eve Online screensavers, and seeing a few comments in the forums about how there weren't all that many, I wrote this for my own use.
If others are interested, feel free to grab it from the above link. Currently it only has 5 ships, and about 9 different backgrounds.
I started with the goal of having every ship type in the game, but it's a lot of work, and for my own use I'm happy with the 5 I've got. If there's enough interest from you lot, I'll expand it... otherwise, here it is in all its poorly programmed glory. :-)
It was created using DELPHI, and screenshots of backgrounds and ships taken directly from the Eve Online game.
Instructions for use: 1. Download the file using the above link. 2. Unzip the file "evesaver.scr" into C:\WINDOWS\ 3. Go into your Windows screensavers control panel and choose 'evesaver'. 4. Done.
THIS IS A BETA VERSION It was developed on a Windows Vista system operating at 1440x900 resolution. If you're running WindowsXP or Vista at around this resolution, you should be fine. However, I have no idea whether or not it will run in Windows7, and no idea what it will look like at significantly different resolutions. I'd love to get some feedback if you encounter problems, so that I can rectify them and make the screensaver more generally useful for all sorts of machines.
No, there is no Mac version.
To head off the screaming hordes of naysayers... if you download stuff off the 'net and run it without checking it with mind boggling numbers of antivirus, anti-malware, anti-keylogger software, without the requisite number of firewalls, and not on a spare computer not connected to the internet, in a small lead-lined bunker 3/4 of a mile beneath the surface of the Moon... you're a twit. I'm not expecting anyone to take this software at face value.
However, if you like it and want to see more, let me know.

Scanned and clean.
Looks good.
Suggestion: Have the EVE logo change screen positions to reduce 'burn in' issues with CRT's.

1366 x 768 on Windows 7, Home Premium - Works fine
I agree with the previous poster that the eve logo should move or something occasionally goes over it to stop any screen burn.
I won't be using it, but its a very nice first go

Good start, but as previous poster I'd like to see it developed a bit further before using it myself.
Worth noting - it works only on a single display, it won't cover multiple ones, which is the main reason I reject it. Beyond that, and that it have static objects which sort of voids the purpose of a screensaver in the first place - I'd just like to see more pwetty. Idea is splendid.
Tested on Windows 7, Ultimate. Parrots, commence!

I thought the whole point of a screensaver was to prevent burn in, lol. Now most people have LCD and they are just pointless gimmicks.

Some LCD's can get a image burnt in in them quicker than a traditional CRT. Have a bunch at work where you can see a "login" image at all times.

Susceptibility to burn in goes in this order: crt > plasma > lcd. All suffer from it. The moral is, if you try hard enough you can break anything :P ***The EVE servers and their patches*** |

1. Only works on Single Display.
I wouldn't have a clue as to how to multi-display it, especially since I wouldn't be able to test it, not having a multi-display. However, if someone wishes to enlighten, I'd be more than happy to have a stab at it.
2. Eve Logo Should Move.
Good point. On that note, I'll also move the text displays and the top/bottom lines so that they don't burn in. Easy fix.
3. Ships moving backwards.
Well... they're drifting... but if it hurts, I can certainly flip the image horizontally to make folk happy.
4. Other features.
Well, I'm adding flashy lights to the ships, so you'll see their 'navigation' lights flashing on and off... other than that, what else did people want to see? What other ships would you like included?

i've seen alot of ppl asking for a screensaver. i couldn't find one to like so.. i created one myself. i realy can't belive how simple it is. dunno if i'm allowed to post the link to the ss creator but... it's realy simple. just google "how to make a screensaver" and choose the first link. dl the soft (only a trial) and... do it urself :P i must thank CCP for the great design of the planets. stunning. they are one of the reason i did the screen saver. it's easy.

Bump. Last chance to grab this if you want it, since I need to remove it from my hosting by the end of the week.
Also check out the Rifter game on the same link.
