Are there any corps similar to how Racketeers used to be back in the day? You know, just ****ing off the high sec care bears at every bend. Playing seemingly just to **** off everyone who stepped in front of them...
Just wondering...

I know of two alliances that engage in highsec piracy:
Tear Extraction and Reclamation Services (TEARS/Suddenly Ninjas) These guys operate in Gallente space, around Dodixie.
Machi Mischief These guys operate around Caldari mission hubs.
There is also a group of ninja salvagers that Logit Probit runs, but I don't think they are an actual corp or alliance.

TEARS isn't really anything like Racketeers. Racketeers were good at PvP, TEARS are good at salvaging.
Not sure about the other mob however.
Maximum Yarrage were doing similar things (being ex-Racketeers and all) but not sure if they're still doing their thing.

TEARS aren't pirates. Heck, ninja salvagers aren't pirates. There are, however, pirates that do ninja salvage on occasion. They fill a role in Eve: Salvager. The fact that some people get their panties in a wad over it isn't really their fault(unless they smack in local, which is just fail anyways).
ID10T try to, but they aren't very good at it. There are plenty of small groups that try to be high-sec griefers, but they aren't nearly as successful as the null/low-sec alliances that come up to high sec and gate camp freighters/transports and gank miners/mission runners.

Are there really so very few successful high sec griefers any more? That just seems so... well... un-eve. I mean, that seems to be the only thing that kept the high sec care bears in check.

There are a lot of "successful high sec griefers" out there. The thing that made RAK different was that they had a bunch of obnoxious forum posters. Some of us ex-RAK have moved on to shooting up carebear pos's in wormhole space. It's a nice break from trying to get carebear mission runners to shoot at you in their missions. ************************************************* I have three characters. *raises his hand*
There are plenty of them around I can name quite a few decent ones. Getting well known as a griefer is pretty counter productive as potential targets can get more cautious and it can adversely effect wars. Being underestimated is much better in this niche of the game.

TEARS are still fairly good at pvp in fact after salvaging half of what they do is shooting the foolish bears who shoot at them every time lana posts a carebear dies |

do you know what the word context means because from your post it seems you have taken the word still out of the context it was meant. i had simply meant that tears while good at ninjaing are also fairly accomplished in the art of PEW
*edited mustaches post for him as i ran my whole post through a spell checker* every time lana posts a carebear dies |

You mean the woosh of people smart enough to move on and not hold on to a broken past?
And being in both I can tell ya they were very different, Privateers fought war targets, Rack fought everyone without the advantage of a so called broken war dec system.
Did ya hear that?

breaking news: shooting mission ships is called pvp now. well, you don't want to be famous in that business, unless you are an attention nut.
