So I log in today.
1 skill in que on character sheet, in grey text not yellow to indicate actively being trained.
Blue square on the skill not blinking white to indicate training.
Just randomly decided to stop after the skill that had 4 hours training on it when I went to bed last night, finished it of course and took it off the que but didnt continue the next one.
Only unusual things I did:
1. Disconnect, didn't log off properly, was in space (no it wasn't a logoffski). 2. The one skill I had in the que was already half completed from some training before.
I screenshotted it to make a point as I usually get flamed when I point out the skill que problems as it's a rare thing, unfortunately the screenshot bugged like it does sometimes and didnt show the window properly and by then I'd resumed skill training so no point rescreenshotting it.
Fact remains though a skill can finish and the skill que can just randomly decide it doesn't want to do the next one.

Graphics issue?
Meh...
Anyway, I petitioned it but I think it's a waste of time, if it was anything CCP could easily spot it wouldnt be a problem, so its most likely a client error and the server possible says I never qued s second skill or something.

Edited by: Ranger 1 on 15/11/2009 17:52:58 Spin, remember, you still have to hit "Apply" when you add a skill to the que, otherwise it will show up in your que but not be active.
When in doubt, hit "Apply".
I just saw your addition to the end of your post.
It is very easy to add a skill to the beginning or end of your que and forget to hit apply. You see it there, looks fine, but isn't really part of the que until apply is hit.

Which is what other people have said in the old thread from before.
But I never use the skill que window, so there is no 'apply'.
I always just right click a skill on character sheet and select the 'train after current skill' option, which usually automaticly does all that.

That would be the problem.
Sure you can put skills into the que in other ways, but you are supposed to apply those changes in the que itself (that's what its there for).
Perhaps when people select skills to train from their character sheet it should automatically open up the training que itself to remind people that they need to apply any additions they have made.
I kind of look at the ability to set skills into the que from your character sheet in the same way I look at the auto save feature in Word. Sure, it's there and functional but it has limitations. Do you "really" want to trust it and never hit save yourself?

Well I'll try hitting apply every after every queue I make, don't know if it'll stop it rearing its head again but I can only play the waiting game and see.
Thanks for discussing it with me anyway.
The worse thing about something like this is it makes you paranoid and you end up logging in over and over to keep checking your skills are still training when it happened recently.

Edited by: Terri Lam on 15/11/2009 18:11:02 I had the same problem in mid-July. I am an avid user of the apply button and am as paroniod about that as about anything else in the cutthroat world of internet spaceships.
I filed a petition in game and a bug report (maybe you can see that, maybe you can't)
The GMs were helpful and the bug hunters understanding. They refunded my training time with no hassle. I was as surprised at how smoothly it went as anyone else.
Hope you have as quick a response as I did.
Edit:: You don't need to keep logging in to check if your skills are training or not, all you need is EVEMon

I am also experiencing this bug right now. I had an hour or so of skill left in training, queued up another couple of skills after it and went to bed.
Checking my skill queue this morning, directly via the api (I'm at work, and can't use EVEMon), it shows everything in my queue, but not actively training.
Quote: <row queuePosition="0" typeID="26257" level="1" startSP="0" endSP="750" startTime="" endTime="" /> <row queuePosition="1" typeID="26257" level="2" startSP="750" endSP="4243" startTime="" endTime="" /> <row queuePosition="2" typeID="3437" level="5" startSP="45255" endSP="256000" startTime="" endTime="" />
Definitely not case of not hitting the apply button, as the skills are all there. So after the skill that was in training last night while I was sleeping finished, the new skills did not start training.

Because of the recent events which will follow up on the 21st of December 2012 EVE Tranquility servers have reported anomalous behaviour on EM and Electro Static Power Surges. The world is coming to an end...
