Edited by: Blue Harrier on 13/11/2009 10:23:44 IÆm asking the test pilots here if anyone else is having problems with the Dominion client running under Windows 7 64bit before I report it as bugs.
Please note none of the anomalies listed below happen on either the TQ client on the same machine, or the Dominion client running under Windows 7 32bit on my laptop.
1. task switching using [Alt] + [Tab] does land you at the desktop, but unable to return to the game because what ever you do results in a transparent window with a small black oblong in the top left corner and no mouse cursor. This makes it impossible to click the game icon on the task bar or use task switch to get the client to open. The only way out is to start the task manager and end the Eve.exe program to regain control, then restart the client.
2. In the game if you F10 out to the map browser the mouse scroll wheel does not work and you have to use both mouse buttons and slide to zoom the map.
3. While docked in station you cannot use the mouse wheel to zoom your ship but again both mouse buttons and slide works.
4. If you try and change your ship while docked by dragging and dropping the ship from the æshipsÆ tab nothing happens except a quick graphics æflashÆ, the ships do not change but the ship on display now cannot be accessed via the right click context menu.
Brief system specs; AMD Athlon dual core, Nvidia 8800 GT graphics, 4 Gigs RAM, Windows 7 64 bit, latest 64 bit Nvidia drivers etc.

I can confirm this one at least. alt tabbing on my system leads to the same issue described by Blue Harrier.

Thanks for the replies so far, at least one is confirmed.
Should have expanded on my setup a bit, IÆm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit full retail version.
Also I have Intellipoint version 7 64bit mouse driver installed and wonder if thatÆs causing the scroll wheel problem. Will try uninstalling it later and see what happens.

same with windowed mode, once i change my client to windowed, and try to start a second client it does not work. i checked the logserver and it said something about textures couldnt be loaded since there is no d3d device. use fullscreen(though it sucks with more than one client), but it should resolve your problem.
if not purge your settings(backup them!! note that its not in %APPDATA% anymore, since this redirects you to a wrong subfolder of the actual %APPDATA%), and try again.

I experience the same issue under Vista64 SP2, all recent updates, with a Macbook Pro(4,1), 4GB & Nvidia 8600M GT. --- |

Could you please wright a bug report on these issues one for each issue and specify the system you were running to reproduce them ( a dxdiag would be helpful along with screenshots)

No need to write a report, donÆt know what you guys did but as of client 114259 (today Friday 13th lol), all the problems have vanished.
Scroll wheel now works both docked and in map, without and with Intellipoint 7 mouse driver. Drag and drop of ship works as intended. [Alt] + [Tab] task switch now works just fine.
Only minor glitch is when undocking and warping, or stationary at a safe spot or planet, when aligning in the turn to warp, my Raven sort of hops or shudders around the turn.
Otherwise planets are awesome, love the Ice and Barren (was Sandstorm yesterday?) planets.
Regards, Blue.
