I have a character with a 7.43 caldari state standing and want to put up a POS in high sec(not in the corp I want to use for the POS). corp standing is -0.7. How do corp standing boost service/people increase your corps standing with your current corp? can I make this +7.43 toon the CEO or something and the standing goes up after the 7 day wait period? if yes then if I remove him after the standing goes up will the POS unanchor itself when the standing falls?

There are more than a few posts in this sub-forum detailing exactly how corp standings are figured. I suggest you avail yourself of the search feature, or google.

They join the corp, or they make a corp and then you join it.
Originally by: Fist1 Can I make this +7.43 toon the CEO or something and the standing goes up after the 7 day wait period?
Standings is calculated for ALL members.
Originally by: Fist1 Will the POS unanchor itself when the standing falls?
No.

Right! The standard answer these days from the un-knowing is look for yourself! Aren't they helpful people! You shouldn't ask questions on the Forum! Use the search. Then you can wade through years of smart ass answers and still never find what you're looking for.

Why is being a jerk a necessary requisite of posting replies on this forum? If you think the question is stupid, why waste your precious time replying? Either answer the question or ignore it and move on.

Speaking of "FAIL", this guide doesn't answer his question at all. Did you even read it? It has a lot of good stuff in it, but none of it details the game mechanics of corp standings.
"Milk-bottle"? What does that even mean? If you're calling him a baby, that's very original. You should be proud.
Fist, Ingenting answered your question fairly well, despite being a jerk in the process.

The sticky doesn't answer the question! As far as I'm aware you have to have a corp standing of 10 times the security level to setup a POS in highsec, so your standing of 7.43 if you were the only member of the corp will allow you to put a POS in anything upto 0.7. You can do this by ejecting all the members from the corp who are lowering your standings and then they can rejoin once the POS Control Tower is up. I'm not sure what happens to a POS if the corp is disbanded and whether you can 'transfer' it to a new corp. If somebody can answer this I would appreciate it.

The tower is owned by the corp to transfer it to another corp you will need to unanchor it and trade it over. Easiest way to get a PoS for your corp is to make a alt corp, have everyone in your corp join alt, then use your 7+ to boost your current corp. Once boosted, you anchor tower and everyone rejoins. PoS stays so long as you do not unanchor it. Becareful who you give roles to and what hanger BPOs are in.

Well, when one asks a question that is asked once a week, expect to be ridiculed.

AMEN, Achaen. Very well said. It's interesting to have a look at the post history of those who insist on being jerks. Usually, there's a fairly obvious trend...

Just in case you didn't get a clear answer out of all that:
For a standing boost person to raise your standings, everyone else with an ounce of standings has to leave the corp for 7 days. There's a catch that if you have NO standings at all with a faction, your presense doesn't affect the corp standings. This only happens if you NEVER ran a mission, shot at a navy ship, etc.
One way to accomplish what you want would be to temporarily fire all your corp members (or move them into an alt corp), leave your 7+ guy in the corp for 7 days, and POOF - corp can mount POS for the next week. Or, that 7+ guy can start/join a different corp, mount POS, and your corpmates can permanently migrate into that corp. I've had clients that do this: a 50 man corp bought one of my premades, threw together the POS they needed in the 7 days before standings changed, and just lived out life under the new name.
Once standings fall, you can still anchor modules, just no new control towers. Old control towers will still stay up.
Hope that helps, and good luck, Dzil (this is my pro bona helpful post for the week, now back to trolling MD)

Not true. If the person with high standings has been in the corp for more than 7 days, the standings will be recalculated the downtime after the low standings members leave. So, if the high standings member is a corpie, no problems. If it is a contractor, they stay for 7 days, other folks leave, he stays one more day, everyone else rejoins, and contractor leaves.

Rule #1 - Standings are based on all characters who have been in corp for more than 7 days. Rule #2 - Standings are calculated at downtime.
Using these two pieces of knowledge, you put the contractor in for 7 days, then kick everyone before DT. Standings will recalculate based on the contrator's standings. Other corp members can re-join some time after DT and their standings will not be included for 7 days.......i.e. the contractor has 7 days in which to do what's needed.
During the next 7 days, you can get your POS(s) anchored and get jump clones. The contractor will likely have sufficient standings with a jump-clone corporation (if not you might look for a contractor who does).

Your post is almost accurate, except for this bit. You can raise Corp standings (for traders/miners/R&D/JCs) with courier and mining missions and stay faction neutral, as long as you don't shoot any rats, and of course, decline the storylines. You can also fleet with a mission runner, as long as you don't shoot anything. Loot-salvaging/remote repping for the active missioner is ok. Note that you need to plan staying faction neutral ahead of time since the new player missions will affect some standings.

Faction can change for a number of reasons besides missions - getting caught with contraband, factional warfare and shooting faction ships (e.g. convoy raiding) are three such events. Running regular missions doesn't affect faction (unless it's a mission to shoot ships from another faction), only storylines will directly alter faction standings.
Also watch out for derived standings - the process where an alteration in standing towards one faction will alter standings with other faction through their relationships. (e.g. increased Caldari will cause increased Amarr and decreased Gallente/Minmatar)
