When I start eve, the splash screens load but nothing happens, the "ExeFile.exe" stays in task manager, when I lauche ExeFile.exe manually I get in the console "An exception has occurred. It has been logged in the log server as exception #1" and nothing else.
The weird thing is that it doese the same on two of my computers, one with xp SP2 and the other with xp SP3, one with ATI the other with NVIDIA.
I've tryed: -Reinstalling Eve several times (the "online installer" and the "offline") -Reinstalling Windows -the "alt enter technique"
Any ideas ?

log into your machine via another user and try running eve from that user -- 3 Titans Lottery EB | Capital |

So rundll.exe was there on of them, killing it didnt change anything.
Logging in with a different useraccount didnt change anything either.
ON both computers.

Why would killing rundll.exe fix it. It's a critical system file. Killing random processes is not a good idea, Windows will prevent you killing some but you can still disable some that prevent your system from functioning. ------------------------------------- Don't click the links or even the forum topics. |

I had this problem the other day, have you tried this?

No, it doesn't downgrade your system, it doesn't replace dx11 with dx9, it simply ADDS dx9 files to your system.

Exactly the same problem. But none of the fixes suggested fixes have worked. Any other ideas as to what may be causing the problem and a possible fix?

Start EVE in its Root folder in 256 colours.
So for most users that will be Right click EVE icon, properties, Compatibility, select 256 colours.
Now EVE starts correctly and strangely not in 256 colours....weird but it works so I'm a happy bunny :D

I have this, it's just after the latest Windows Updates have installed. I also lost my nVIDIA Control Panel so it could be something to do with custom resolutions.
I'm going to try a system restore. --------------------

I too am having this problem, but I am running Vista.
It updated a couple of days ago, but ran ok until I went to start up today
I can't play until this is resolved obviously. My corp needs what I am mining...
HELP!!!!!!

vista. eve started up just fine b4 dt. now it just reduces my eve client and doesn't open up at all.
ccp what is going on?
