Interesting, and I get your point.
Given my schedule and demands in Real Life, I figured I would play EVE as a solo player. I avoided EVE-Uni since I figured I could learn everything I needed to know on my own. Yeah, I was stupid.
I was approached by an old toon as I was mining in a Belt in a .7 system in my Osprey. He and a Corpmate of his had been watching me mine my little heart out and invited me to their Corp. I'd received and rejected a lot of such offers, but this guy was different so I accepted. I did tell them that I would not be a reliable Corp member however.
Well, I've learned a lot from these guys and have become way too involved in the game since. So, I get your point about the best way to learn if from other players. Having said that, I still think the tutorials are a valuable tool for new players. They teach only the very bare basics of game play. To go farther, requires interaction with other players. |

Make T1 frigates more useful.
As a new player I can tell you I won't resub due to being essentially locked out of more than half the game. No Faction Warfare. No PVP. No low/null sec. Every time I try any of those I am blown away before I am even in the fight. I don't mind risky or competitive but I do mind not even being able to compete.
Enhancing the T1 Frigates gets new players into combat faster. It also gets us into Low Sec faster. I can tell you, with things as they are now, I wouldn't venture into low or null again for probably 3 - 6 months, until my tech levels hit 2 for everything I use.
And if I am going to have to wait 6 months to play the whole game, well, it isn't worth the wait. Plain and simple. |

Please make this happen CCP. That way I can create my army of 200 POS bashing punisher alts without having to fork out the ISK, or run through the tutorials. |

Actually, that might be the OP's goal.

Instead, I'll assume there actually is a very good reason for your expressed opinion and that I'm just not astute enough to see it. So.... Why do you think there shouldn't be any tutorials in EVE? Do tutorials give the impression to new players that the game is too easy? Do tutorials fail to weed out the new players who "can't cut it"? Are you concerned that in influx of new players may dilute the game? Are there other potential reasons that I've not thought of? Why do you think there shouldn't be any tutorials in EVE -- because it creates an artificial distinction between new players and experienced players. also, training new people really should be player-generated content. EVE University is an excellent example of that in action. Do tutorials give the impression to new players that the game is too easy? -- they don't make it appear to easy so much as fail to prepare you for how hard it is. This is likely because CCP doesn't want to scare new people away. Do tutorials fail to weed out the new players who "can't cut it"? -- most likely. people still won't tank their hulks afterall. Are you concerned that in influx of new players may dilute the game? -- not at all.
So let new users get aggravated and leave Eve is what your saying. Right? Then think Eve needs no new players and the game will continue on forever with no new players and old players who get tired of it leave. You should find out exactly how many extra chromosomes you have. I'm guessing about 12. |

That's funny OP, Having a noob ship then constantly getting upgrades and new ships and slowly making my way up to higher tier ships is what made me buy my first month in the first place, about 4 days ago.
I think you need to actually state legitmate sources instead of spewing out crap from your mouth, because i'm sure your Butt is getting jealous of it. |

Apart from it being a known troll posting this
Merlin - requires Caldari Frigate 3. New char gets Caldari Frigate 2.
This means you have put them into a ship that they cannot operate, let alone the issue(s) surrounding what fittings will they get. Civilian everything??? FW - Inferno is better, but you need to fix the NPCs and fix the plex bugs CCP |

Here's a ship so useless you'll only use it as a launch pad to getting a ship that isn't gimped beyond all measure.
U mad bro?
Just give all new players a free Merlin or Incursus or Rifter when they start and give noob ships when they die. By getting a useful ship when they first start EVE, they will enjoy the game and stick around. And if they lose that ship, they get their free ibis until they buy a new good frigate.
nah, give them a special edition free titan. but make it bound-to-character, so they can't sell it, AND just to ensure the tease is complete, make it recycle for 1 unit of tritanium
