Very unlikely. After all how are you going to show the main characters taking drastic action and being scared for their lives when they are floating in a pod full of goo.
This has been discussed a number of times, the only way is if its a spin off based on walking in station or something like that. Macrointel, the place were the nature order of the universe does not hold sway. Pirates and ore thief's are congratulated by carebears for the actions. |

yeah, EVE's heroes wouldnt do anything really impressive, just sit for weeks on end in a pod and when they come out just get drunk and start fights.
they would have to change the backstory or, like Clear Skies, just ignore it

you want a movie when there isnt even an integrated story. i would hazard a guess that hardly anyone knows any of eve's story nor do they even care. how do you create a film based on a sandbox game were everyone makes there own story.

Not that I'm proud of using WoW as an example here, and I'm kind of disappointed that we, as a society, have decided that a movie of WoW is apparently a good idea, just pointing out that it can be done. Personally I would see an Eve movie just to see how it was done.

Don't get me wrong, I hate wow, but the warcraft universe had been around 10 years before wow. I hate the new blizzard and what they did to warcraft. Still, the original story line is semi in tact and could be used for the basis of say an animated film. Think final fantasy, which as a movie was pretty cool, even though it had nothing to do with the game series.

If George Lucas got his hands on the story of Eve there would be 12 movies, 8 comic book series, 5 novels, 40 video games, action figures, and promotional cups available at all the fast food restaurants.
In all honesty, I think a feature film of how New Eden came to be would be epic. There is plenty of side story that is part of the frame that holds the sand in the sandbox.
Hater out.

No need to make it about capsuleers. EvE's more of a setting than anything else, and you would have no difficulty staging just about any dramatic situation in this galaxy. After all, there aren't even than many pod pilots out there, and many of them are politically and socially insignificant, being hauler alts or dedicated tackler/scanner/miner characters. You could either set the story in a pre-pod New Eden or just have poddies be half-mythical weirdos, like the Reavers in Firefly. Crusades: Security Status |

EVE Episode I: New Land (events around the EVE gate collapsing) EVE Episode II: Amarr Rising (Formation of the early amarr empire) EVE Episode III: Godless (Amarr/Minmatar meeting) EVE Episode IV: Democracy (Forming of the early Gallente) EVE Episode V: Capitalism (early Caldari and the SCC/CONCORD) EVE Episode VI: Wetgrave (enter the Jove+first capsuleers, maybe following an early capsuleer through training?) EVE Episode VII: War (start of the factional wars with some capsuleer action from the perspective of an ordinary ship captain?)
Someone call Lucas!!
I hope I got those events in the right order, I haven't read all the backstory. On another note, how do you like your pods in the morning? |

Indeed. And even with capsuleers there are still ship crews. The game's got a pretty compelling story actually

With the exception of Postal all movies made from games are very bad! Noooo.
I was going to list examples of the fail that is making movies of games but I'll just let everyone favourite wiki do it for me Linkage
