Myself and my alts recently moved to minmatar space to escape the hustle and bustle of the caldari and amarr regions.
I found a really nice mining spot called Osvestmunnur, however there is a problem. It is crawling with macros.
So I've pulled my resources and am now in the process of ridding this great system of this plague. Equipped with several gank fitted and insured armageddons, no bot will survive. A holy war will ensue, and it's much cheaper to replace an insured armageddon than a hulk.
I don't want to hear "maybe they aren't macros they are just meth junkies that mine a lot blah blah blah" Well, if they aren't macros they will warp away when I start shooting them.

you only got a couple seconds to kill them before concord comes, and it takes what? 18 seconds to align and warp while you kill them in under 9 seconds, duhhhhhhhh of corse they are macro miners!! if they cant warp out in that time!!
edit: also not all miners look at their screen all the time when they are mining, since you can sit there for about 15 minutes waiting for full cargo you might be downsized looking at stuff

Yeah, I know, the reason I'm in this system to start with is because I mine.
However, I know for a FACT these guys are macros. Along with 80% of the ice miners you see. :)

So what you are saying is that you found a sweet spot to mine, but a bunch of other people got to it first. And instead of sharing, which is the nice thing to do, you are going to play the amateur pirate while posting some self-righteous explanation on the forums about how they MUST be bots and it is your gods-given duty to purge the 'verse of them (if such a thing is possible) in the hope that anyone besides your poor macro miners are going to care that you popped a few hulks in some backwater system.
Did I get everything right?

I'm not sure. I'd have to set up some up to find out. Mining and mission-running at all, in my humble opinion, is a pointless waste of time, when ISK can be made without any effort at all by selling GTCs.

No, you didn't get anything right.
These guys are macros. Just the other night I loaded up in my incursus, and flipped all four of their cans. They popped more cans. I kept transferring ore from their can to mine. When they filled up, I grabbed my hauler and stole a FREIGHTER FULL of ore from them. Sorry, but this just doesn't happen to humans, I don't care what movie you're watching.
All this despite the fact they are there 24/7, they are here now, they will be there while I'm at work, and they will be there after all the ore is gone warping from belt to belt in a depressed tantrum. They'd be there during downtime if they could. Hell, even the other locals that live in this system are supporting my efforts to get rid of them.
So maybe you can just accept the fact that I may have a little more insight into this situation than you do, or you can play the self righteous ***** and try to defend these poor helpless miners.

Well, if I'm defending them you can hardly call me self-righteous. And seeing as how I have no practical use for mining, as I pretty much buy ISK by trading it for GTCs, I really don't mind macro miners at all. They produce ships and equipment at ridiculously low prices in mass quantities, so I can easily afford to purchase a bunch of whatever I'm flying at the moment and focus on what really matters in EVE; blowing other people up.
Now of course, since it is against the rules to use macros I do not condone such activity. Such people should be ashamed of themselves and all the bother I hear they cause to carebears.

Even though you've just admitted you have nothing to do with mining, and therefore probably know little about it, you still had the temerity to pipe out an opinion by basically calling the OP 'immoral' for addressing a situation which most actual miners would applaud the OP for.
So, what was the point of your original contemptuous remarks if they had no bearing on the issue at hand? Would i be accurate in suggesting you just wanted to rile somebody up in an internet forum simply because you could?
It's a bit of a vacuous thing to do, especially if that is what you gain enjoyment from.
I don't get why so many people like to be deliberately argumentative just for the hell of it.

If these guys were macro'ing it, they wouldnt be mining into cans they'd be making numerous station trips to drop off thier ore or they'd be mining into a pos.
The fact you flipped them and they did/said nothing only proves that they don't care what you do to thier cans and they won't be tricked into getting aggro.
If someone decided to flip a can of mine, not that i can mine anyway, i would do the only sane thing and ignore them and carry on with what i'm doing not wasting my time with can flippers.

So if you can pull a freighter full of ore from them why should you mine? They seem to be doing all the work for you. Clearly you're not looking at this from the correct perspective.

I read your first reply and it was full of crap, showing that you have no idea what you are talking about. At the very best, it was a worthless troll. So why should I give a flying **** if you think this is worth posting a topic about? If you don't think this is a worthy topic, then why did you reply to it?
And to the one who says if they were macros they would be flying to and fro stations they don't do that because there's an orca that comes periodically and picks up their cans. He's a bot too.
And uh yeah, I'm a tool for saying freighter full, in all caps. Okay.
I have leeched off of them for quite some time, however I can't get all the ore they mine, they mine it faster than I can haul it. And since they play 24/7 they are driving down the price of ore in all nearby trade systems.
