I think I know the guy you are talking about, since he came into a social channel I frequent and started bragging about something similar roughly an hour ago.
If it is him though, and he was using the character he showed us, you were fighting a character from the end of last month in a destroyer... is that right? Couldn't you just destroy his ship and pod him to a station? He couldn't have more than a couple of million SP if that, and its a destroyer for crying out loud.
Also, he claimed that because he was demanding money to stop killing people, it was a viable tactic and GMs should stay out. I have no idea if this is true, so some CCP clarification would be very nice on this. Either way though, it seems like it would be a lot easier to just kill the arrogant bastard and kick him then.

well, you don't like to here it but "this is EvE".
It is way easier to be a criminal asshat then to be a loyal member :(.
Far to many tools for griminals, far not enough tools to handle this criminals except becomming criminal too. It's plain wrong and a realy bad game designe from CCP but it is as it is :/.

Why CCP is it that you FAVOUR so called criminals aka the **** of EVE and make it nigh impossible for the honest people of EVE to manage space/corps.
posters, refrain from responding with "this is EVE" as thats just Bull****
(and i'm not a carebear, frankly i look lowly on high sec gankers, aka wardeccing corps, they should be brave, come to null sec and enjoy the end of our turrets)
They can't be ejected from corp until they are docked because people w/out Roles would drop corp while under attack by WT's thus getting the WT's Concorded. Please re-size your signature to a maximum of 400 x 120 with the file size not exceeding 24000 bytes.Applebabe

Sadly lost 2 ships due to a neut RR domi helping him. (mind these are t1 cruisers with lack of combat skills so not much of a loss)
why doesn't ccp have it so a player getsd kicked then after an hour or somthing, so simple...but thats too easy!
Get him to engage you at a station, When he does, scram and double/triple web him and blob him with blackbirds/griffins, Hold him in place and unable to lock anyone until he gets tired and docks, Kick him.
I like your idea, but did somebody just say OVERKILL!!!
Just pod his sorry ass and when he wakes in his new clone kick him.
Edit: Ups, didn't realize that they where not his corp members, so they can't pod him. I still love your idea.

I second this, we do after all see titans sent in to kill a few frigs.
On topic however, I also had this same problem a good while back, however I was able to simply scan him down with probes in his safespot and pod him. I did petition it, and it took about a day to get a response. By then he was long since already dead. In your case... three options I see...
1. Petition and wait potentially ages for a response. 2. Leave corp and join the indy corp, and then pod his ass. 3. Wait untill downtime and then log back in before he does and kick him.
They all suck, but this broken game mechanic has been around for ages. CCP tend not to fix corp related issues. Ever.

yes thats the guy, demanding 200 million lol to leave
the reason why we couldn't pod him was he had a remote repper bttleship helping him in his little destroyer. and only 2 people were actually geared for combat online last night with some combat skills. this is a pure industry corp currently and barely anyone including my alt has even minimal skills.
fortunatly the guy was kicked when he went offline so problem solved, But CCP should impliment some new game mechanics to sort this problem.

Edited by: Marko Riva on 09/10/2009 08:58:55 The thing is; your corp has a whole bunch of old characters so we expected you to fit better than 200mm rail thoraxes with shield extenders and 100mm plates. When we genuinely offered you to teach you a few things on EVE, fittings and tactics that would have been the deal of the century for you lot. Alas, you choose to turn that down.
From what Jack told me (he still has to post his chat logs on our forum as they're HUGE) most of your guys took it quite well and didn't at all like your incessant rambling and emotears, not before this happened and certainly not after. They actually started to side with Jack as your ranting went on, quite funny. If you whine like that in CVA I'm amazed you're still in it.
also; when this happened last night, you didn't undock at all but let your corp mates do the hard work while, ofcourse, rambling like an idiot.
We had fun.
ps; curse you Estel!

i'll guess i'll have to reiterate what i was saying last night...
we are an INDUSRTY corporation that does not train combat...you are goonswarm (apparantly), what in the Universe would make you think any self respecting EVE player would trust you to show them anything/keep their word.
and emotears? you guys are more pathetic that i thought, was just trying to see if i could get you to come to 0.0 to play instead of the high sec ganking but hell, you take it seriously that i was crying behind my computer...arrogance believing that every player that rants in chat is really crying in real life lead your friend to be duped last night :)but we'll only be sharing how we duped you in the corp chat.
and to the not undocking part, why would i undock on an industry character with the basic starting skills in combat?

First; I'm not a goon, never was (or will be), I happen to have a friend that joined goons that's all. I am in fact quite truthful about my stuff so what I say it true, I might not always tell the whole truth but WHAT I say holds ground.
After clearing that one up; if there's 2004 and 0.0 players in a corp then I would expect them to understand that combat is part of everything in EVE and waving the "we're harmless industrials" card doesn't fly. Jack joined you on a new character as he was bored and wanted some interaction. When he found that your whole corp is made of non-effort people who never bothered to learn about EVE, some are newer players so they have an excuse but older players do not, he had a chat with me and thus the plan was made.
On your ranting; do you REALLY want him to post your ramblings on our open forums and me linking to it?

you ever thought that some players actually took long breaks from eve lasting years? this corp is relitively new having the had some players come back from long breaks and restarting it up recently to have an intake of new players. some players even started eve a while back and then didn't play after the trial only to activate the account and start playing. This is not a no effort corp, this is a corp which is still growing and developing. So do not presume with limited knowledge of how we work.

Edited by: Marko Riva on 09/10/2009 09:59:08 Not my issue nor do I care, I see a corp with older characters and thus I see a target. Whatever excuse one might have to still not know the game or being unable to keep one's whining and ramblings to a minimum is not of my concern. People who don't learn the game or fail to put in some effort only have themselves to blame.
Not going to continue this because it's not worth the hassle nor do the mods want threads to turn into a 1v1. I'll leave you with "for a fierce 0.0 player you sure whine a lot" and "some of your corpies are ok but you and Relative Mass are idiots, the ok people should leave your corp because nothing ever good will come of it and they'll be held back by your uselessness".
Thank you.

bye. thanks for visiting my whine thread specifically made to target you and your friend in which naming and erm can we call it shaming? took place on your part. just hoping the mods will get annoyed at these threads popping up of this stupid game mechanic of theirs and do somthing.
i'd like to point out how i kept the anonymity of the characters involved...but hell with it one of the culprits has to come in and make it personal and "threatened" to post the chat logs...
bye and hopefully we meet again.

We had the same issue, but not one but three asshats doing this. Before we figured out what was going on they took out a hulk, a hype(care for some friendly PVP? I wanna test my destroyer fit and you can tank it... and in come the buddies) and some small stuff. All into combat ships, locked down the system (nothing comes in undetected, nothing goes out undetected) and let some people visit the belts, moons and planets, and have some fun. They had no roles so couldn't steal, didn't leave the corp themselves but kept undocking, buying new ships (hmmm who put those on the market? wink wink), etc etc. We got bored after about 12 hours and booted them one by one after they got podded once again :)

Maybe I have a twisted mentality but I think what that player did was fun (and I'm a carebear most of the time) It also teaches pure PVE Corps they would be best off to train up some PVP characters and improve their hiring methods.
Its EVE and the excuse 'we didn't have the PVP players/ships' does not work as a valid excuse. The price of owning your own corp is the increased risk from doing so, that is very clear from day one. So blame yourselves for not being prepared.
You're also playing into the hands of those who think us carebears are trying to ruin the game and in this case they have a point.

indeed it has taught us a lesson, and we are only a tiny corp currently that is growing, looking for combat pilots aswell as industrial.
Though the point of this thread was to raise even more awareness at this annoying mechanic that gets abused.
