hello, i am running the following machine
Intel i7 965 EE at 3.2 ghz Vista 64 ultimate 12 gb ddr3 ram nvidia gtx 295 velociraptor 10,000 rdm hdd
my goal is this:
i have two monitors a 19 " on loan from a friend and an old 15" i have leftover from my old computer, they support the following resolutions
19" 1280x1024 15" 1024x768
i have 2 paid for eve accounts, one is my pve/pvp main, the other a miner/industry
i would like to run one client per monitor as follows
19" pve/pvp main
15" miner/industry alt
looking for the best way to run both, at max resolution in the way i described, my hardware can handle it i imagine, its a matter of setting it up im rather confused about, any help would be appreciated thank you.

For running multiple accounts you must run both in Windowed mode. You may want to put a custom resolution in the nvidia control panel due to the taskbar in vista and if you want to use 7 it's a lot bigger. The reason you must run in windowed is due to the way directx handles desktop and graphic calls. As soon as you move graphic focus to the desktop it will minimize any fullscreen directx application.
It might be best to install EVE twice to differnet folders since this make saving settings less of a hassle. Simply copy and paste the C:\Program Files(x86)\CCP to CCPcopy or whatever.
Start up the first install and set the resolution to 1280x1024 or the custom and set it to Geforce 295(1) and place it on the first monitor, you may wish to use EVEMon to 'fullscreen' it so that it doesn't leak onto the second screen and cause performance hits. Then start the second client and select Geforce 295(2) and the 1024x768 afterwards and move it to the second screen.
That should hopefully work assuming you have set up the SLI settings correctly. Just because you have a 295 does not mean you can hope to get 60FPS across 2 screens. The RAM better be 1600MHz+ and you should have a pagefile.
There is no guarantee this will work straight away especially with a 295, the SLI and Dual GPU setup can mean it takes lots of fiddling to get it right.
Turn off every advanced effect in the nvidia control panel including AA. It will just cause more issues. Ensure in the EVE menu that Interval is set to 1 and Only HDR is on, turn Bloom off. ------------------------------------- Don't click the links or even the forum topics. |

Eve Launcher is a indispensable program IMHO if you run multiple clients on multiple screens.
It takes the EVEMon ability to "fullscreen" in window mode to the next level. You can set it so that client one will be fullscreen windowmode on one monitor and the other client to be the same on the other monitor. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

Evemover does the same as far as I can see. It's your choice.

Yes there are a few other alternatives. I tried evemover a while back but found I liked eve launcher better. But the point here being that they both offer better support for multiclient/multimonitor than EVEmon does. EVEmons fullscreen window mode is only useful for single client/monitor. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |
