I see a lot of ships dock due to this. CCP won't change this because they promote carebeary.

Playing docking games is like running in the Special Olympics, even if you win you're still ******ed.
In other words, don't let your targets drag you into a fight off station unless they're willing to commit to it. Instead try putting someone on the other side of each gate leading out of system and wait for them there.

When CCP implements a better way to see outside of a station, other than undocking into a camp, then this is the only reasonable solution.
Do you promote gankbeary?

Why can't you just look out the window before undocking?

I think he means aggression, then redocking. ===

I think he means attacking and then docking too soon after you attack.
If the docking delay bothers you, don't fight outside stations.

Although that is valid, it also promotes metagaming. One should not need an alt or a friend change sessions.

....ooooooorrr everyone could just grow the F up and learn how to make their own instawarp bookmarks...
The docking time is fine. That way I don't lose a Vulture to a frigate because his 50 man fleet is on the other side of the gate. :P

Yes and no. It's f-ing annoying to kill something, then you want to dock to drop loot or whatever and be unable to. At the same time, it's also f-ing annoying when someone shoots you, and you start shooting him back, and he just docks up.
While it's not fun when the latter happens, I think it's balanced at the moment so that it's also not too annoying.

Doesn't sound like there needs to be shorter docking timers. Sounds like you needs more DPS.

The sort of people who deaggro on stations instead of fighting will do it regardless of how many people you bring if they feel even the slightest hint they'll lose :(
Best option is to get a vaga or fleet stabber with a 100MN MWD and bump them off the station once they've aggressed tbh.

Not being able to go through a battleships tank in 60 seconds when you are 1v1'ing doesn't mean you need more DPS.

No, its not, you're just doing it wrong.
If two chars w/ 6 days training tops [each] can pop a zealot before docking, you're doing something wrong..
[p.s. its not a standard zealot fit.. x2 trimarks and 1600 plate].

Well that sounds like a easy to setup and commonly used solution to the problem at hand. Thank you so much for your useful response. ----- The Python Cartel - My Pirate Blog |
