I¦m in to making complex reactions in a POS. If not misstaken you have to put up a POS in 0.3 or lower system.
But the question is, when is it a 0.3 so I can make complex reactions? What is a 0.35 syste classified as?

Yeah look at the map, or left upper corner of screen when in system.

He's probably searching through the database files or some other location that uses them. The security status of a system isn't a integer but a floating point.
To answer your question, I'm not really sure. You just need to compare the data with in game I guess. It's not a straight round if I'm remembering right.

IIRC it gets rounded up, so a 0.35 is actually a 0.4 - This needs to be taken into account for moon mining and such. So it should be a 0.34 is a 0.3 system

Edited by: Usagi Tsukino on 21/09/2009 17:12:42 The only thing that matters when it comes to anchoring is the security status in the upper left hand corner of the screen (or the security status listed when you 'show info' on a system).
Look at that, nothing else. --- Usagi Tsukino // Miyazaki Zaibatsu

Hmm ok I will have to compare with the "in-game" security.
Hehe yeah it might be that the system tless you what sec. it is when you are in it. But I wanted to move a neg status char. and POS. And as a first step I¦m checkin out Ombeys 2d maps.

Well you don't actually have to go anywhere to check the security status. Just do a search in the 'people and places' for the solar systems you're interested in from the 2D maps and you can find the 'in game' security status that way. --- Usagi Tsukino // Miyazaki Zaibatsu

The autopilot/map also shows the correct numbers - rounded to one decimal place which is what you need. ______________________ Isn't it time you learned to fight back? Agony Unleashed Home of the PvP University.

and you can set the autopilot to avoid highsec (stay in lowsec)

Low/Null Noob Question:
What is the point of "true sec" as opposed to the plain 0.1 or 0.5 rating that's visible in game?
I've seen places referring to 0.0 having varying ratings as well, but it's all still 0.0 (lawless) space. |

Like ingenting said, it relates to rat spawns.
Rat spawns are chance based and the true security number is somehow fed into the formula (I don't know the formula - CCP keep that to themselves). Lower true security systems have a higher chance of better rats including officer spawns.
In hign sec, it also relates to rat spawns and I suspect CONCORD response times and the like. Anything that's chance based. In high sec the differences are far less noticeable though.
Cheers Falka

True security also affects ore present in the system, i.e best stuff usually found further towards true -1 than -0.1. I suspect it affects a number of other things too and it will be interesting to see how Dominion feeds true into the equation.

The game is written to be playable without any knowledge that "true sec" exists, thus all game mechanics use the displayed sec instead. As people said above though, it is a modifier used to affect ore quality and rat spawns. It's not really all that useful in highsec, but in 0.0 there can be quite some difference between systems despite them all displaying as 0.0.
