In "~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/CCP/" i have an rsync script so sync the versions. After that i always install the newest patch for Tranquility->SISI. This works almost always..

rsync -av --delete EVE/ EVE-Singularity ----------8><------------------

It patches for me fine; then I try to run for sisi and get the following:
err:module:import_dll Library t2embed.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\CCP\\EVE_sisi\\bin\\Awesomium.dll") not found err:module:import_dll Library Awesomium.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\CCP\\EVE_sisi\\bin\\wbrowserHost.dll") not found err:module:import_dll Library t2embed.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\CCP\\EVE_sisi\\bin\\Awesomium.dll") not found err:module:import_dll Library Awesomium.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\CCP\\EVE_sisi\\bin\\wbrowserHost.dll") not found

Really wanted to try out Carriers tonight, but so far when i try and load up my SiSi patched version i get a splash screen and eve stops, crashes. Or at least appears to. Command prompt gives me the following;
fixme:heap:HeapSetInformation (nil) 1 (nil) 0 fixme:advapi:RegisterEventSourceW ((null),L"Bonjour Service"): stub fixme:winsock:WS_setsockopt Unknown IPPROTO_IP optname 0x00000013 fixme:winsock:WSAIoctl SIO_GET_EXTENSION_FUNCTION_POINTER {f689d7c8-6f1f-436b-8a53-e54fe351c322}: stub fixme:winsock:WS_setsockopt Unknown level: 0x00000029 fixme:winsock:WS_setsockopt Unknown level: 0x00000029 fixme:winsock:WS_setsockopt Unknown level: 0x00000029 fixme:winsock:WS_setsockopt Unknown level: 0x00000029 fixme:winsock:WSAIoctl SIO_GET_EXTENSION_FUNCTION_POINTER {f689d7c8-6f1f-436b-8a53-e54fe351c322}: stub fixme:winsock:WSAIoctl -> SIO_ADDRESS_LIST_CHANGE request: stub err:ole:CoGetClassObject class {9a5ea990-3034-4d6f-9128-01f3c61022bc} not registered err:ole:CoGetClassObject no class object {9a5ea990-3034-4d6f-9128-01f3c61022bc} could be created for context 0x1 fixme:heap:HeapSetInformation 0x8e0000 0 0x33fc1c 4 fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x338f24,0x00000000), stub! fixme:winsock:WSAIoctl -> SIO_ADDRESS_LIST_CHANGE request: stub err:module:import_dll Library t2embed.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\CCP\\EVE-SISI\\bin\\Awesomium.dll") not found err:module:import_dll Library Awesomium.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\CCP\\EVE-SISI\\bin\\wbrowserHost.dll") not found err:module:import_dll Library t2embed.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\CCP\\EVE-SISI\\bin\\Awesomium.dll") not found err:module:import_dll Library Awesomium.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\CCP\\EVE-SISI\\bin\\wbrowserHost.dll") not found fixme:advapi:DeregisterEventSource (0xcafe4242) stub
The top part seems like normal screaming, the bottom does not. I know we are going to "require" SP2 for XP, what does that mean for us and wine?
Do we require anything special for Dominion? Have to admit I'm still wine 1.1.14, which has been working smoothly for me since Apoc, upgrade time? NVidia NX6200 nvdidia driver 180.22 AMD Athlon dual core 2.7Mhz

ok, after patiently waiting for 1.1.30 to compile from source it crashed on me. Threw a very pleasant GUI crash window "Program ExeFile has ended unexpectedly" etc, and console output is verbose and indecernable by someone whos up til 4am (on normal Eve not Sisi i must point out). This happened every time after log in, just as it loaded Charicter selection.
So I used wine 1.1.27 that the packages provide for F10. Tranq Eve loaded and played as normal again, whoo. Sisi, also loaded and ran. But i occasionally (when under heavey gfx/cpu load) get the same polite GUI ms. Again I havent decoded the Console spurious messages yet. Will do in time.
In general things look good. I agree Moondoggie browser frequently goes black. I will hawk the Test threads to see if doze users get anyhting similar, suspect its a glitch in the chrimium imp on Wine.
Biggest kicker for me, pretty pretty planets, as Amarr and Kor-Azor, just draw as white spheres, with a glowing atmosphere. Was REALLy hopeing to see our sexy new planets. Lots of; fixme:d3d_texture:basetexture_apply_state_changes Unrecognized or unsupported D3DSAMP_MINFILTER value 3 D3DSAMP_MIPFILTER value 3 spewed out as of last, presume that the error that cant draw the sexy planets :( Shame.
But so far so good...bar the random crashes lol

I only had the white spheres instead of planets when lowering shader quality. At high, the planets seemed to render fine.

Ok, you were right, Switching to the "high" shader graphics setting worked. I mean it made my PC run like soup, but that because I've had to recently downgrade the GFX card. It is possible CCP will make lower level shader models too, for more pretty for those with less GFX power.
Prompted me to order a new card :) I will hunt for issues with Awsomium (i think its called) which seems to be the Wine library for chromium. See if the blacking out is a common issue.
I still get occasionally pleasant "ExeFile has caused an error" messages followed by a crash, when Eve is under heavey load. eg system change and market window plus 3 others open. Not sure if that's me.
Btw, where's Uncle Severus got to, he's usually right up front with the SiSi testing for Linux :)

If you get this error:
err:module:import_dll Library t2embed.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\CCP\\EVE_sisi\\bin\\Awesomium.dll") not found err:module:import_dll Library Awesomium.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\CCP\\EVE_sisi\\bin\\wbrowserHost.dll") not found err:module:import_dll Library t2embed.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\CCP\\EVE_sisi\\bin\\Awesomium.dll") not found err:module:import_dll Library Awesomium.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\CCP\\EVE_sisi\\bin\\wbrowserHost.dll") not found
You can just download t2embed.dll and put it in the system32 folder, at least that worked for me.

Upgrading from 1.1.13 to 1.1.24 resolved the Awsomium issue. But *points at effing bit screen shot* thats exactly what i got with wine 1.1.30. I agree, switch down for now.
