You can for example dedicate rigs and low slots to a tank insted of cargo.

If you have to ask ...
you'll probably never understand it.

Edited by: Mikner on 02/09/2009 01:01:00 I concur. If you have to ask and doubt its reason, you don't need one. Unless you want to buy one from me of course

nice answer goon,
it seems that ore bays are for convienence. They serve no practical purpose other then carrying compressed ore back to refining system. ***********************************************
Everything ever written by a goon or DS1 member is absolutely factual and should not be challanged in anyway. |

You can put insane amounts of compressed ore in there ya know. Assuming you can be arsed to drag heavy water around for compressing jobs. Might not be as essential in 0.0 (altho it kinda helps if you are renter and local powers allow roquals but have unreasonable refining taxses) but can be real advantage in WH's.

This is pure lol,
If you don't use rigs and expanders your hold is so small that you can only compress one unit of ore at a time. Thereby multiplying compression time by at least 5 and keystrokes by at least 10.
You Sir are the Master.

Well, you are free to say so if you want. Never used one so I go by what seems reasonable and what is said in Haladas mining guide seems quite resonable. Even more so with a ore bay.
