Sometimes it's tempting to shoot those npc traders, that leave and enter stations. Could be fun, but is there a standing hit involved?

I used to do this for isk back in the days before concord, tbh not tried it since would love to know if its still works.
I used to have to wait until they were 150km out from the station guns.

Imo it's not needed to wait for them being 150km from station. Just 170km from the sentry guns in a sniping ship and a ship to salvage the wrecks?

When I've run a cargo scanner on them, I've never found anything worth my time.

I followed someone around in an indy looting a bunch while someone was killing them all. It's mostly just the normal trade goods you see on the market that only npc's buy. Lots of soil, milk, garbage, etc.
But yeah, he was taking a standing hit with, but not from concord.

It has been a long time since I've done this, so execute with caution ...
Trade ships move from one station to another. Suppose there are two stations in a system, one from NPC corp A, and one from NPC corp B. Ships from A depart A slowly, once they vanish they NPC warp to station B. This is where you shoot them. Once you do shoot them, you will loose standing with corp A, but not Corp B. Concord will not come after you, but Corp A will. So do not go to corp A's station until the agro counter has gone down, 15 minutes or the station guns will shoot you.
Note that if corp A happens to be the navy of the area in which you are in, the gate guns and the NPCs around the gates might just come after you, so be careful in that regard too.
The trade ships drop mostly normal trade goods stuff. Once upon a time I kept a pos fed this way, but some things just don't drop any more, like Uranium, robotics and machine parts, maybe they do in some places, though can't say I have seen a low sec trade convoy in a while. They also drop illegal goods, like small arms, toxic waste, slaves, drugs etc, but with how screwed up smuggling is, they don't do ya much.
Total ISK was about the same as running lvl 3 missions and it can get boring pretty quick :) Been a couple of years since the last time I blew one up, so could be different now.
Convoys seemed to launch abut every 20 minutes, and the drops get better as sec status of the system goes down. So if you can find a 0.5 system with four or five stations, all from different corps, you can keep your self busy, just don't expect to get rich.

Unless those npc haulers are owned by CONCORD, no, CONCORD will not intervene.

As far as I remember, you'll only pull aggro from the corp the NPC haulers belong to. Thus, you will get shot by sentries and they will decline any docking attempts during aggro time. I think.

this 'cause yes, npc indies do come out of concord stations aswell. you do get an aggro counter towards that npc corp and all guns at their stations will be after you. a concord aggro is a lot less pleasant though. - putting the gist back into logistics |

You don't get a Faction hit, but a Standings hit with the corporation that your ganking indies from...
Concord won't spank you, but eventually (-5.0 with the corp) you will no longer be able to dock at any of their stations... a very small price for the 100's of thousands of isk youll make of the Trade commodities youll get
