good thing I don't expect good things from mankind \o/, yet sometimes, stuff still manages to surprise me, in a negative way that is. ---

Had the same thing happen here back in the beginning of July. A lemonade stand run by a 8 and 5 yr old was shut down by code enforcement until they checked th codes they were supposed to enforce and learned that a peddling permit was not needed until the age of 16 and thus the kids were exempt.

Looks like I'm going to have to buy a few extra kids then. This time next year I'll be a millionaire, with a kid on every corner in Tulare selling cookies and lemonade . I wonder if it will help profits if I blind or cripple a few?

the only worry about allowing them to do it freely is you'd have people exploiting children to have these stands all over the place

why treat a young girl any different? she needs a license and also she must pay tax on the lemons then tax again on what she sells and tax for having a stand and tax for being 8 and tax for breathing and a license for exhaling carbon dioxide (and also a carbon trading credit allotment and tax if she breathes more than one per hour) and a tax on all the tax she pays andandandand

Personally, I'd go for the cripple option here. If you blind them, then you're likely to end up with all sorts of foreign coins and forgeries in the pot.
Also, it'll be difficult for blind kids to give useful evidence against the local 8yr old mafia-stylee protection racketeers that will spring up to take advantage of this new business phenomenon.
