Been there and done that - got Activated but now need to know how to get my EVE client patched for Shiva connected to the Shiva server called Singularity but no mention of "how" to do this and there is no server named Singularity in the list of servers when I start the game... what gives ? |

It always amazes me (I don't know why, I should know better my now, maybe I'm just an eternal optimist) that some people's first resort to somebody asking a question is to flame them! I think it is fair to say that if somebody has resorted to coming to the forum to ask a question it is usually because they have exhausted all other obvious paths of enquiry. Sure, check that they haven't missed the obvious, but there is no need to be rude about it.
VH, In answer to your question, I *think* that you need to be connecting to the "DEVELOPMENT SERVER (SISI)" as this is the only one that has version compatability with the patched game. But as with you , I could find nothing definitive to tell me this, so I just tried it.
Now I can login to that server, but after I do character selection I get stuck during loading until eventually the server times out. I am not sure if this is a temporary server problem, a stuck issue with my character or whether I am trying to access the wrong server.
Yes I am Active. Yes I have patched. No I am not a clueless n00b.

I just logged in fine onto SISI, using the version 2.01.2794 client, though, as it is shown as server verion. Only the 2795 version is linked for download, but i only realised this after already logging in (downloaded the patch in good old beta mood, just typing it in into the adress bar).

Well I don't know if it was the reboot or the new patch, but now I can get in, though it still takes a long time on the loading screen (several minutes with no visible progress). But hey, looks like it is worth it. Framerate of 100+ in station and 80 ish in space versus around 15-30 with Castor.

Your opinion of flaming is rather wide, i dont actually see any flames anywhere, if your talking about my post that recomends the player open his eyes, that is not a flame, that is contructive literary criticism. the information in question which the player was requesting was on the same page that was given as a link in the first reply, right after the part with the BIG RED WRITING. If someone manages to miss that part then they DO need to open thier eyes. I am MORE than willing to help ANYBODY out at ANYTIME, but if ppl cant be bothered to even read what is in front of them, then i dont see why i/anyone else should spoon feed/repeat the exact information thats has been laid out beforehand.
Flaming: To insult or criticize provokingly, as on a computer network. The term has become the catchphrase for everything even slightly negative. ( to quote Raynes )
Me informing a player that he 'need to do something' in order to progress, this... is contructive.
