Aaron gets off his knees and walks back to his sleipnir, "how am I going to increase the amount of people living in these rough parts of space Stan?" Stan replied, "Me Nuh know why de bombaclaart yuh tek dis mishaan fa Ehhrannn!, " Aaron sometimes found it difficult to understand Stan's harsh minmatar dilect, after a short while Aaron realised Stan was reffering to his dissapointment at the mission Eternal Ascension had taken on. The mission was commissioned by a group called CCP, a newly formed subsidary of Concord. Aaron had been paid 750 billion isk to oversee this venture, the mission detail was quite vague, it simply read - Get more people into nullsec NPC space.
"People dem too raas greedy and badmind, dem wont listen" scoffed rasta, "we gotta try Stan, you even said yourself vast resources exist out here" Aaron reasoned. "Wi affi go deal wid dat dutty bungle Angelus Gabriel furss, de man dem report seh Angelus attack dem while dem ah mine" said rasta, "Don't worry man, we will take care of Angelus soon" said Aaron "Now dat is what I tarrrkin bout!" said rasta excitedly.
There was a sudden claxon...."THIS IS ROOSTER REQUESTING ASSISTANCE, WE ARE PINNED DOWN AT IV 4, BELT 10, BY ANGELUS'S MINIONS, THE FLEET IS JAMMED AND WARP SCRAMBLED, LONG RANGE SCANNERS DETECTING INCOMMING ENEMY REINFORCEMENTS...." Aaron and Stan look at eachother with widened eyes, they turn and run back to their ships as fast as their legs could carry them.

Edited by: Celes Steele on 01/04/2010 03:53:28 That would be me.
Basically, I've poked around for a few weeks, and had a convo with Aaron with some recommendations.
He has agreed to all of them.
I want Hub Zero, and the concept it is, to work. Quite a high percentage of the replies on this thread voice how good of a concept it is. Even most of the ones Aaron has butted heads with echo this sentiment.
The holdback to Hub has been in part, this thread and Aarons replies.
Aaron has agreed to basically stop posting, now. No more rage posts, no more rants about the evils of NBSI/NRDS and possibly a bit sadly , no more sci fi.
Aaron is pretty emotional, and passionate about Hub, and has been far too easy to troll into a response, or has misread and gone off on a tangent. This stops now. No more drama, no more soap opera. All I want is for Hub to flourish.
How are things gonna be different? Well, for starters there are now no reds.
AoV, Dalv Fliteo, Local Spike, whoever, you will now be considered neutral.
Hub will not shoot any of you unless shot and will try and avoid conflict with anyone for the time being.
This of course doesn't mean we will rush out of the station and sing Kum-Bah-Ya while you shoot us while you still have us red ... we will wait until things work out diplomatically and see.
And I guess if you wish to keep Hub red, you can throw me in that group. This is 0.0 There will always be roaming players looking for kills. Thats part of the life. What I want to eliminate, what Hub needs to grow, is an end to the grudge reds that Aaron has accumulated over time. We are givig the list a reset. Please view this as an invitation to diplomacy and please approach myself or Dracvlad for information.
I personally am IDKA which is I Dont Kill Anyone. I try and avoid getting caught, for the most part it has been quite successful to me. There is and will be a strong component of NRDS in Hub, but from what I have read from all in this thread the way we would implement this is probably pretty close to the policy that AoV and others have. Hub will try and develop a NAP list and try and promote this over the systems we may have influence over. As our numbers grow, so should our influence.
Hub has been dying and I want this to change, now. I am only doing this interm management for a few months until this gets back on its feet. If you poked your head in this thread earlier please feel free to do so again and please consider coming down. Hopefully things will be quite stable in the near future. I look at the people willing to come to Hub, and those who did come, as its single greatest resource, it can't work without them. I want to see all the great people who have passed thru at least give it another look (Neo Veltman for example).
The drama has ended. The hard work of making something begins. And yes, clearly I am insane for getting involved in this at this level. But I believe in carebears living in 0.0 and being successful.
I'm willing to give up all of my EvE playing time for the next while making it work.
Anyone Else?
Other issues and ideas like market and the finer points of the NRDS stance will be discussed soon.
Thanks, Celes Steele (Kva Plexcha)
Edit : one stupid typo ... sigh

A quick post before I'm off to work
@ Pompus - I like your posts, but shouldnt capatain fovious have posted that?
@ Tirus - You, and whoever else thru the course of the venture, and the thread who either left Hub or were "deemed unsuitable" or simply wanted to avoid madness, please consider coming down now and see. Things should be different, and stable, and I really need interested people, amd lots of them.
@ Trant - I've got a special place in my heart for you bud - :) time will tell.
And yeah I do realize the April 1st thing - but this is no joke.
Its going to take more than a few days to flesh things out, print out exactly how Hub will operate and what it will offer the interested EvE player.
I want to end the grudge wars immediately and bring back all the talent that graced this thread and UF. Thats where I'm starting.

Most excellent news. Ending the drama is a great first step, and re-affirming the commitment to building something constructive in Hub might be just the thing to convince high sec folks (like me) to give the area a try on a more permanent basis.

Well, if I understand the concept correctly, "Hub Zero" doesn't have a leader. It's just a place where neutrals aren't shot on sight.
Hopefully, the neutrals won't be forced to follow any rules. Will neutrals be allowed to engage people red to them?

After a passionate 5 intense minutes of lovemaking, Bob slumps his head back to the pillow, exhausted.
"Margaret," he says, "I love you." "I love you too dear" she replies.
After a second she continues "and, guess what?" "what dear?" Bob mumbles as he drifts off
"I'm Pregnant"
"Oh my GOD!" Bob exclaims as he bolts uprite "Thats FANTASTIC, After 10 years of marriage!, FINALLY!"
"But Bob," Margaret continues "You're not the father. I think it's your brother Ralph"
"or it could be your father, Bob SR. Or the mailman. Heck it could be anyone, just not you"
Bob, in shocked disbelief, barely manages a "WWHA..?"
TO BE CONTINUED ...
Ok , for those who regularly stop by this thread looking for a car wreck/train crash/drama/soap opera, theres your fill.
For the rest of you time for some seriousness.
Things in Hub are changing and I'm cautiously optimistic for the future.. Soon, hopefully right after Easter, I will be able to present the Hub package - the market, logistics, a formal NRDS policy and post it here. There could be a resolution on the war front as well, but I really don't want to get into that at this stage.
Feel free to email me, most of my play time right now has been emails and convos and I'll answer anything I can as soon as possible.
Thanks and happy Easter holidays, if thats your thing.
Fak Edit: And those who will be "clever" and "witty" by substituting my name, Aaron, Rastaman, in the above soap, its no longer clever or witty cause I bring that point up here
