Capital Wasteland
Why? Because you have to be a total badass to survive there.

Capital Wasteland
I Agree this one.
Why? Cause you have to wear an anti rad suit to live there.

I like the subject change . You know deep down that those cities you posted (as seen here) can't come close to the true awesome that is capital wasteland. I bet they don't even have a Goliath mutant running a muck.

The reason I changed it is because no one here can make any kind of contributory discussion. _________________

Sure we can, you just didn't like the answer. You asked which city is better and 2 votes to one says capital wasteland, which now means that even your new title and OP are wrong

Heresy! FO3 is great & VATS is just plain sexy.
If you need something extra there's mods out there to spice things up. But vanilla FO3 is good enough for me.
If you play it as a fps then it's pretty average. But as an immersive rpg with visceral combat it's a blast.

LOL that's EXACTLY what I did when I was bored. I'd be like ohhh lets go fill in that little green arrow. And then when I did that there would be more empty green arrows! Haha I love that game. I also love modding that game. Sniper nukes FTW!

Upgrade the carvans. They have better ammo when you upgrade them fully. And they guys in Rivet city should have some for sale.

I actually just started playing FO3 a week ago, beat the game already and am currently going through it a lot slower the 2nd time around.
****ing amazing game. I always seem to end up an evil person though, I hate doing "good" & nice things for people, because everyone in the Capital Wasteland is a ****ing ******* to your character.

Its quite fun when you are morally neutral, I do all the good options for the quests, but steal like there is no tomorrow and kill when people get in my way. Blew up Megaton my first play through, it was too fun. I have to lawbringer perk because its easier to kill evil people to get money so I'm a raging murderer but its ok because I mostly kill the bad people. So much fun roaming the waste and killing everything. -------------------------------------------------- Everyone is born right handed, only the great over come it. |

I really wish they added more stuff to the wastelands though. More conflict / run-ins with enemies.
I know there are mods you can download that fix that, but meh. I love stumbling on those huge groups of Raiders chasing that one poor bastard with the bomb they attached to him.
First time I did that I failed and I just stood there watching him run away, then BOOM, red mist.
Epic. _____

One thing Bethesda does really well is ambience. I LOVE the ambience of both FO3 & oblivion.
Whether it's watching the setting sun over a ruined city or listening to the wind through the trees it's something I really cherish about their games.

Yes, you do.
Fallout 3 does not.
See, this is the classic case of "purists" having orgasmic dreams of when they first booted up the originals.
I loved them both and those "Van Buren" tech demos (especially this) would have been the ultimate FO3 for me as I happen to like top down view better in RPGs.
But, FO3 did manage to awaken the explorer in me, which was, after all, what I liked best about the original games as well. All that freedom to go where ever you wanted, whenever you wanted to. All happening in an 50's retro futuristic post-apocalyptic setting.
Awesome.
That goes for both FO 1/2 *and* 3.
Worst bit about FO3 so far, is the non-turn based game play.
On the other hand that's what most games nowadays seem to turn to for game mechanics.
Tack an inventory on to an FPS and voila, you can call it RPG on the box .
All in all I'm having a blast exploring FO3. Didn't play Oblivion though, so perhaps the ignorance regarding any comparisons is a blessing in my case.
EDIT: cna't splel.

The exploring was fun the first week. On the second week and second playthrough I found out there was nothing to replay, since they removed weapontype specific damage resistances and replaced it with a universal DR, so all weapon systems are too similar and you can get all skills to 100 in the first playthrough with the help from bobbleheads and magazines. With everything explored, no really different playstyles available and with the epic suckiness of the plot there is little reason to keep playing. Third week was enjoyable because of mods. Now I can't be bothered to play it.
Decent single player game, but needs heavy modding to keep it interesting in the long term. So, no it doesn't suck and it is a good exploring game, but a good RPG it is not.

Crap. Don't say that.
Admittedly, I've only spent around 10 hrs in FO3 so far, and I like the exploring/stuff-finding/scenery so much I'm probably missing the important details. Those that will matter in the long run.
I do however still think that the "FO3 sucks" is just the usual internet fad of "everything is black or white, nothing in between" which annoys the hell out of me. It's the venom a whole generation is spewing all over the place, tainting other people's reasoning in the process.
The Fallout crowd is usually hard to please, though. For good reason. Black Isle did us much good, didn't lie about the cakes (if anything, lying about cakes was only one of many a choice left up to the player) and now they're gone.
I can't understand the praise other games (read: button mashers with "graphics" tacked on) is receiving.
I blame the widespread popularity of consoles, "casual" gaming and ADHD.
[EDIT:]
Let me rephrase that.
I blame the widespread popularity of ADHD.

Because sometimes you just want to kill stuff without having to search through every filing cabinet, trash can, desk, etc you can find and pick up loads of empty cans and ****. The most boring aspect of fallout and the thing that turned me off to it was the shooting controls without VATS are clunky and having to search everywhere otherwise you end up with crap gear is *******s as well __________________

Not to mention ending the game as soon as you complete project purity, before the damn DLCs. I finished it, hitting level cap months before the DLC was released that raised cap to 30 and didn't end the game with PP, but I don't think I have a save before it and I'm not replying everything just to find out what heppened next. Silly design decision, decent but not earth-shattering game. And in hindsight I would probably have preferred a PC version to 360 if just for the mouse controls. VATS helped it enormously but can't beat mouse/keyboard for FPS action. Originally by: Destination SkillQueue Now I can't be bothered to play it.
