What will those be ? Drake Navy Issues ? Or maybe a State Raven for 10 million militia LP ? Special implant sets similar the pirate faction LP stores (Crystals, Halos, Snakes etc.) or some missing skill-books (e.g. DED Connection) ? Whatever it will be, it has a direct impact on the success of FW. If it's bad or medium, not much is going to change. If they are good and in high demand, this might attract people to do the FW missions. These people are additional targets that attract small pvp gangs to hunt them down. More pirates will come, followed by anti-pirate gangs and fleets. In short: it might add a lot of new live to the currently desiccating FW regions.
The informations we have so far are: Dev Blog: Quote: Meanwhile, in an effort to make Factional Warfare more fun, we are looking at introducing Loyalty Point rewards for kills and captures, with special LP stores for each militia, offering unique goodies for hard working militamen and women. More details to follow in an upcoming blog by CCP Ytterbium.
and some infos in the Eve newsletter #30: Quote: Factional Warfare gets some upgrades! The variety of awards has been increased, including new unique rewards for PVP kills. Missing faction variants for several modules were added, as well. Be sure to check the LP store once 1.5 arrives!
According to this, there will be a) higher variety of awards (is this referring to the rewards, or to new ranks/medals ?) b) unique rewards for PVP kills (means not only through the LP store, since they'd then not be unique for pvp ?) c) mission faction variants for modules
Any ideas what a)-c) will be ? And does this leave a slight chance of getting a State Isse Raven (for an extremely amount of LP ofc.) or does the 2nd text limit the "goodies" to modules only ?

Edited by: chatgris on 03/07/2009 11:53:52 I will wildly speculate at +6 implants :)
One can dream.
State issue ships would be *very* nice too.

No to state ravens, tribal tempests, imperial geddons/apoc and federation megathrons. These ships are special because they were given by devs to players for alliance tourney and events. Faction tier 3 cruisers or tier 1 bcs would be nice I guess but I don't really think it'd be a great way to spend the LP in the end. Faction tier 1 bs would be, OMFG. And faction tier 2 bc/tier 3 bs shouldn't be released until the lower tiers recieve the love. Faction dessie maybe?
I hope that refrence to 'missing faction varients' gives the gallente and minmitar shops some love. ATM the module selection for Gallente is pish, with no top-dog module like invul fields, EANM ect. Minmitar shop isn't in much better shape since the speed nerf either.
As far as implants, EFT shows a couple of fleet +4s that give speed boosts, armor boosts ect. Dunno what thats all about, only seen them in EFT never heard of them ingame, but it's a possibility.

I'd love some, lets say, "Caldari Navy Cormorant/Raider/whatever" what actually uses missiles in destroyer hull. Not sure how many have noticed but some of the npcs in plexes appear somewhat strange, such as Kestrel with railguns.
Perhaps there is a possibility that lightly modified and improved versions of standard frigs and such might be put available.

Well lets think this through a bit; "easy" options.
a. Player dogtags, more faction medals. Should not be too hard to implement; some events triggered - medals for occupying/liberating a system - medals for getting a certain number of player kills - medals for capturing a certain number of plexes b. Ace medals and dogtags from player are fairly unique I would think to PvP c. Modules and ships being added that aren't available elsewhere could be a 'bad' thing; CN modules that can't be gotten at the CN LP store? what?

Euhm, that last point is exactly what should happen. Items only possible to get via FW (and then contracts of course). We do a bit more for our empires than mission runners do, we can get some other rewards.
Those first two points are just wrong. We allready get a nice medal via standing, no one cares about them, the entire goal is real rewards, not fake ones.

sorry, this is a bit off topic, but i just had an idea
someone mentioned a State Issue Raven for 10million FW LP, i was wondering, you know that would take quite a long time to work up from player kills and capturing plexes, then it hit me
LP for player kills
maybe you should get certain amounts of LP for killing enemy militia based upon their RANK in the militia
these obviously wouldnt be the exact numbers, but the chart would look something similar (we will use Gallente ranks in this particular case)
Federation Minuteman - 100 LP per player with this rank Defender Lieutenant - 125 LP per player with this rank Lieutenant Sentinel - 150 LP per player with this rank Shield Commander - 200 LP per player wit this rank Aegis Commander - 250 LP per player with this rank Vice Commander - 300 LP per player with this rank Major General - 375 LP per player with this rank Lieutenant General - 450 LP per player with this rank Luminaire General - 525 LP per player with this rank
the 'reward' increases more the higher the rank you go, and maybe your rank could increase with the more player kills you get, hell, maybe allow the ability to trade in LP for higher ranks, with each new rank allowing for new stuffz at the Militia LP store, the first few ranks might allow for Faction Ammo, maybe a few low grade implants, and the higher ranks allow for higher grade implants and things like faction issued ships, which you could only get at those higher ranks
this would help with stop people from whoring plexes all day long and trying to just avoid pvp and go straight for LP, if you are running plexes all day your gonna get up to higher and higher ranks and become a much more attractive target, people might actually chase you to try and get your lp 'bounty'
this will also help single out the better militia members, if someone is a Major General for example, it means that they get quite a few kills and are a bigger threat than the other milita figheters and probably have a higher 'position' within the fleet
idk, its a rought idea, but i like it

*Drool* .. Navy Coercer ...
If CCP play it smart they will add stuff that exclusive to the FW stores and can be bought by plexing/killing equally. Special implants, ships, modules etc. Would change it into "professional militia" rather than the current "rag-tag militia".
Fairly even on the killing front, major discrepancy is the plexing aspect. Plexing for the Minmatar and Caldari is far too easy compared to Amarr and Gallente (offensively speaking).

Umm... dogtags are real rewards. A Gallente Navy Fleet Commander's tag is worth 2 million in Lonetrek.
Now if you extrapolate the idea to players, players who have done/are doing a lot of plexing and thus have high militia standing/rank will have tags that are worth more than the guy who just entered and went right to blobing. A State Brigadier General's tag will be worth more than a Protectorate Ensign tag (I would hope significantly more). This helps to minimize the ability to "farm alts" because in order to make the tag of the alt worth more than 10,000 isk the player would actually need to invest some time plexing. Possibly also provide a standings boost when you turn tags in (small for low end, big for high end).
This seems like real rewards to me.

If I really wanted to speculate? State Ships for a TON of LP's, faction battlecruisers and faction dessies. As well as just some random mods that don't have faction variants. ~ The man who smiles when things go wrong has thought of someone to blame it on. |

Orbiting a beacon or pvping like pvpers are wont to do is not on the same level as the aforementioned events and tourneys. Not even close. You know someone would afk spin beacons in a stabbed navitas just to farm fedathrons.
As far as the gallente web, well it competes with the minmitar web as the 'best' trading range and fittings for stopping power. Compared to the best faction tanking gear, which is on the complete otherside of the fence, it hardly seems like the 2 sides of FW have equal shops. Just look at whats selling on contracts if you don't believe me.

It would be nice it there would be some good modules that you can only be used while a FW member.
So maybe 15% generic dmg mod. Or how about a bubble immunity mod for easier introduction to 0.0. |

Because SURELY those wouldn't be abused at all. No corp would DARE enter FW to take advantage of such modules to give themselves a leg-up for a real mission outside of FW - that would be so dishonorable!
It'd be nice for the Gallente I used to fly for if the entire State had as poor a grasp on Eve as you do. Also, you DO have a bubble immunity mod as it is - buy a Tengu. ----

That's the point. When they were given out, they didn't come with the promise, that they won't be ever given out again. Actually it's quite unfair compared to the winners of other tournaments, since they didn't receive some 120 billion isk ships like the winners of that 2006 tournament.
It also makes sense from a RP perspective: people are doing missions for the NAVY and other corps, they get a NAVY Raven. We are serving the whole faction, e.g. the STATE, so why not offer us a STATE Raven. Of course no one wants them to become common, I'd hate to see 10 of them flown by isk farmers in a mission hub. Instead they should be a kind of longterm goal, something that people work on for months. 10 million LP and 10 billion isk maybe, or even more - but not impossible to get like now. It's a pity to have such fine ships sentenced to dust in hangers of collectors, never to be undocked or used for anything.
And FW is the perfect place to distribute them: it's a balanced mix of pvp and pve, people can't just grind it like lvl 4 missions in highsec, it's not a hidden thing deep in 0.0 that is only accessible to some few players. FW missions for example are the most dangerous ones: - no large mission hubs like in 0.0 mission, - no concord protection like for highsec mission, - usually around 10 jumps for every mission through hostile lowsec, - warp-in beacons for everyone, easy to enter for wt and pirates, - harsh standing penalty to opposite faction because of npc kills - etc. This should be rewarded properly, to be balanced with other forms of missions in terms of risk -vs- reward. A state/tribal/imperial/federation battleship is a perfect longterm-motivation and would serve well for this purpose.

That can be easily justified as the "regular" Navy LP store being a store for the mercenaries who work for the Navy, while the FW store is for those who proved themselves towards the respective empire by being in their militia and actually fighting for it.
I am anxious to see what CCP comes up with and if it is balanced. So far the stores aren't exactly balanced - while every store has something worthwhile the required effort varies wildly.

Not to mention how would you "force" that rule. Guys in 0.0 by definition don't give rat's ass about empire rules. So what would be the explanation why they can't fit one on their ship ? I can to some degree understand how one could "force" the rule in empire if you for example declare the module illegal for non FW members (so it's like carrying any other illegal goods that can get you in trouble with customs).
Or are you guys thinking about some "bind on pickup" crap ? In my opinion thats not the way EVE operates. In EVE if you can take the items from the cold dead hands of opponent you have the item and you can use it as you see fit.
