I'm curious as to what the most common ore types in a Wormhole are.
My Corp is planning on taking a little trip into one, and we're curious as to what rocks we'll find when we go in.

Since you didn't ask for a special W-space class your answer is: All

Sorry, we're planning on going into a Class Four.
It's late, and I can barely remember things when I'm awake. |

Class 4, same as first answer.. all, depending on the site name actualy... aim for frontier/core sites as im not sure the peremiters will yield all ore types even in a class 4, up to class 3 they yield up to arkanor (peremiter sites) |

Thank you very much, we've been wondering this for two days now and I guess we won't know until we actually go in.
Adventure is one of the most delicious spices of life I suppose. |

I have yet to see mercoxit spawn in a class 2 wormhole. I have seen it in class 4s. I don't know about class 3s.

I'm pretty sure that I have seen mercoxit in a class 3 (core something-or-other).

I've seen it in the lower class WH's 2's maybe 1's, but I haven't done anything with it, just gawked at the sizes.
There's usually just one 'smaller' roid of mercoxit.
Then again it is a WH, so there's never any true promise.
Have fun! |

Edited by: Some Advisor on 23/06/2009 04:26:41 "awwww its just 1 arkonor rock in there" - "well start mining it..."
[hours later] "this surely is a BIG arkonor rock..."
1 10k mercoxit keeps me busy for about hmm no clue 2 hours with 3 skiff and orca as support 1 arkonor goes a bit faster with 3 hulks.
i like it :)
and if you STILL in the mood afterwards... there should be plenty of crokite, bistot, hedbergite etc left :)

I was looking at a class 2 the other week and it had 9 roids kern->ark. They were roughly the same mtrs each roid, with over 2.4 mil mtrs total. I didn't look at anything smaller than kernite ore. In the same system was also a 2nd grav site that looked identical, plus a gas cloud site with 2 clouds (30,000 mtr radius, 15,000 mtr radius - didn't have scanner onboard then to see how much in cloud).
If you can mine it, is a huge amount of ore in wormholes. The trouble of class 1/2's and even 3's might be to get the stuff out as the wormholes will collapse before you pull that much out. Is one reason some put up a pos, so can mine a lot and get then ore out over a period of time.
