So it says in the description
"... the gang's personal and targeted armor repair systems."
but now targeted doesn't mean RRs?
Somehow that seems like either a bug or typo.
Which is it? Did I just remap my character to have high charisma for nothing?

The last time I had the 3 loaded on my commandship the bonuses appeared to be working on the remote systems. I don't think it worked on the remote hull reps, but really wasn't paying real close attention. |

It should provided you organize your fleet properly and all the necessary people in local space.

With a face like that, you'll need all the charisma you can get. |

Edited by: Mr Krosis on 15/06/2009 09:09:32 A possible issue you might be running into is that Commanders only receive their own bonuses. So with the following fleet:
FC -WC1 --SC1 ---SM1 ---SM2 --SC2 etc etc
Squad Member 1 (SM1) gets bonuses from FC, WC1, and SC1.
Squad Commander 1 (SC1) gets bonuses from SC1 ONLY, not FC or WC1.
I know this bug-feature has caused numerous "why aren't I getting bonuses" questions among colleagues over the years. |

Wrong, WC bonus applies to SC, provided proper chain of command is present. Can't say anything about FC bonuses though, since I've not flown in tri-step gang.

Not according to the description on one of the Leadership certificates, and the SC definitely didn't get WC bonuses at some point in the past (in a correct fleet structure, of course). However, the official wiki, and presumably your own game experiences, suggest that they do. |

If you assign someone as Fleet Booster but they don't have a Fleet command skill, then the gang link bonuses won't work. If you have Wing Command only, then ensure that you are the designated Wing Booster for that wing and the number of squads are within your normal control levels. Removed. This is also not true, you're mixing Booster and Commander Roles. As booster you only need respective skills to provide boosts, as commander you need respective Command skill for fleet structure to function correctly. |

Edited by: Rashmika Clavain on 15/06/2009 13:35:36 Well speaking from experience...
In a fleet, I was Wing Commander and assigned the Wing Booster role. I was passing on gang bonuses and gang links to everyone beneath me. The fleet box also had a green tick. I checked my modules and I could see they were affected by the gang links.
lovely.
Then the FC needed a second wing... one was created and I was assigned the Fleet Booster role. Although I sitoll had the green tick, all the gang link bonuses stopped working.
When I was set back to Wing Booster, all the gang link bonuses started working again.
*shrugs*
That's from personal experience two weeks back. Mebbe it was down to the FC but as far as I know he had FC1 trained. |

Edited by: Kaileen Starsong on 15/06/2009 13:51:20 Hard to say without knowing whole gang composition and skill of commanders. Green tick is quite misleading actually, I can have set myself as WingCom and Fleet Booster and alt as Squad Com+Booster. I'd get green tick, but no bonus will be applied. Alternatively I can set myself as Squad Member and Squad Booster and alt as Squad Com... then both of us receive bonuses.
In your case it's FC that should've been looking if he has green tick or no, btw.
Edit. Actually FC1 allows only for 1 Wing in working structure, goes up by 1 per level.

Hmmm that starts to make sense from a tree diagram perspective. The bonuses need to go up to the top of the tree to the FC, and then down into the second wing (branch).
If the FC cannot hold the extra Wing, the gang links stop working?
That would make sense... Removed. Please keep your EVE signature related to your EVE persona and not that of a real life politician. Navigator |

The squad commander will get bonuses from wing command only if the WC SC and a squad-mate under the SC are in local space. Sometimes it gets confusing because the squad leader doesn't have a squadie under him in space at the time.
Does anyone know "for-sure" from personal testing that someone without the fleet command skill can be assigned the fleet booster role and the bonuses will work as long as the person in the fleet command position has the proper skills? I always thought that the person in the boosting position still had to have the requisite fleet/wing command skills. |

Which isn't enough for two wings.

I find that highly unlikely. Maybe your SC had those same bonuses himself and was getting confused. Me and a few corpmates have done quite a bit of testing regarding gang bonuses and broadcasts, to see exactly who receives and sees both of them at all levels. Here are some examples I can give where things have behaved as I describe.
Real world examples: Small mining gang. 1 wing with 1 squad. WC in an Orca with ganglinks running. Squad 1 members all recieve mining bonus. Squad 1 commander does not.
Combat fleet. "Perfect" FC running a ganglinked claymore in FC position with skirmish, shield, and info links. WC1 = a mothership with 3 armor ganglinks. Everyone in wing 1 recieved all bonuses from the claymore on down. The WC mothership recieved it's own bonuses, but none of the claymore bonuses (they are all very visible bonuses).
Both of these situations occured and were verified by several people within the last 30 days. They also match up with every test cast we've examined over the last year or two since fleet mechanics changed.
